Well, I've just discovered something. :C
On the 6th of July, Paul met John in 1957

on the 7th of July, Syd Barrett died in 2006

Why does some things have to be this sad. :C

I've got a bike
You can ride it if you like
It's got a basket
A bell that rings
And things to make it look good
I'd give it to you if I could
But I borrowed it

And I neeeeeeeeed her all the time

Not really, other than his very early work with Pink Floyd. As a matter of fact, I was surprised to read that he passed away in 2006 - I thought he had died much sooner than that.

I was into Pink Floyd up to and including the Animals album. I started losing interest at about the time The Wall came out and really did not pay attention to any of their stuff after that. I'm sure there was great music on those remaining albums, but it wasn't the same Pink Floyd sound that I was used to. I can't really put my finger on it, it just wasn't the same to me.

You aren't missing much by ignoring post-70s Floyd, Zig! (As for solo Syd - well, he's interesting and eccentric but I find his tunes often too scattered for my personal listening-often pleasure. Certainly worth hearing, though I'll still take his Pink Floyd stuff over anything.)

I just want to play. I’d like to think I could work opposite Sinatra, B.B. King, the Beatles, or a polka band... - Jazz musician Rahsaan Roland Kirk, 1967

That one about the octopus was good. I quite like Syd's stuff but only in small doses.

Please don't spoil my day; I'm miles away
