It is just breaking that Ray Manzarek, founder member of, and keyboard player with, The Doors has died today in Germany from lung cancer. One of rock's originators, what we listen to today was greatly influenced by what he and the other three achieved.

"I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend and bandmate Ray Manzarek today," said Doors guitarist Robby Krieger. "I’m just glad to have been able to have played Doors songs with him for the last decade. Ray was a huge part of my life and I will always miss him."

The presenter then repeats in the language not being used by the jury. Last decent Eurovision song? Abba in '74 with Waterloo? What else is there? Brotherhood of Man, whoever it was who sang Love Shine A Light, Making Your Mind Up? The entries are terrible and the UK generally treats it as a joke. The only part I generally watch are the results but this year i gave up early on and went for a walk.
