I came across this news in a 2012 newspaper about James McCartney where he talks about forming a band with other Beatles’ sons. Quite an old news I know and quite ludicrous (for the lack of a better word), but what was he thinking?
I think it was meant to be a wry joke that got lost in translation.

I’m flattered.
And Linde, I had no clue what that actually was, I thought it may have been a band or album until you said that. However, I see it is rated VERY highly (it does seem like more of a ‘chick flick’, so I’m kinda glad I didn’t know what it was), so it’s probably worth a try if you’re into that kind of thing. I know ratings aren’t everything, but still… they are something.
Yeah it’s super popular, everyone is talking about it and the trailers and filmposters are everywhere too, well, in the Netherlands, that is. A small part of it actually takes place in Amsterdam. I’ve also heard it’s a real tearjerker, a few people I know went to see it and all cried and stuff. I’m going to watch it tonight, so I’m curious what it will be like.
A friend of mine, who used to be one of my best friends, just told me his father passed away last night. He had a tumor in the esophagus. He hadn’t told a lot of people, so it came as a complete shock to me. I also haven’t spoken to him a lot for the past year, since he’s living on the other side of the country now. And I completely get that people wouldn’t share this information via social networks. I knew his father pretty well, and it was a very nice and friendly man. He wasn’t that old yet, but age doesn’t matter at all when a loved one dies. It’s so sad, and it explains my friend’s grumpy behaviour lately. I don’t blame him for not telling me though. I didn’t really know what to say. When someone’s grandma or auntie or something dies you just go ”oh my condoleances” and stuff, but when it’s one of your best friend’s dad who you actually knew it’s different. I just said the basic stuff and told him we were all thinking of him and all that stuff.

As MMM pointed out, it wasn’t reported by only one source. I remember reading that Dhani took it the wrong way and posted something snarky in response in a tweet (that’s since been deleted).

Yeah, it was a joke. I recall sections of the media taking it as a statement of intent however and writing articles about a Junior Beatles reunion.Of all the kids i think Julian would be one of the last to spearhead a Beatles kids band.

Offline I DON’T want to see a band with the kids of the Beatles, but as a one-off joke situation, I’d love to see Sean, James and Dhani sing “This Boy .” Perhaps on Jimmy Fallon’s show, since that sounds like a gimmick right up his alley.
