Did anyone see the skiing in the Olympics?

Miller won the bronze medal and then the reporter wouldn't shut up about his dead brother until he broke down. It was horrible and disgraceful and pathetic and about every other negative thing you could say. And the worst part is that it was on a 9-hour delay, so they could have cut it out, but they didn't.

EDIT: Still no video, but here's a transcript. Disgusting stuff.

I haven't watched the Olympics this year. I guess I'm more of a Summer Olympic person.

How awful for a the reporter to do such a thing! Some people's children I swear!

Whilst the Christin Cooper should have stopped earlier Miller brought it up and i agree with a tweet Miller posted - "My emotions were very raw, she asked the questions that every interviewer would have, pushing is part of it, she wasnt trying to cause pain." Nearly all journalists would have continued as they are looking for the emotion behind the story, at times more for the emotion nowadays. I don't like how its going that way however. There was an interview with a farmer's wife on the BBC News last Friday afternoon and she was talking about how they were maybe going to have to think of a career move if things don't improve over the next couple of years for them due to the weather, economy etc. At one point the interviewer said to the lady "and i can see a tear on your cheek, its obviously affecting you" to which she laughingly replied "no, its the rain". He then made a joke out of it which is fair enough, what else could he do?

The reporting of the floods and the sound bites by the public has, at times, been dreadful.

I am going to put that down on my C.V, t'is much better then "people-person". Of course I'm a people person, humans are meant to like being around other people (within reason of course). Who really wants to have no friends, relationships, whatever for the rest of their life? We're not meant to be solitary beings

I've been told that it's not so good to put ''people-person'' on your CV anymore, because that's usually interpreted as chatty and likely to not get much work done. Maybe if you could find a suitable substitute that kind of means the same thing then that'll be better.

Anyway, not everyone's a people-person, I know I'm not. It doesn't mean to like being around other people, but to really enjoy and flourish in those situations.

Sorry to hear you had a bit of a bad weekend. :(

Do we? I didn't think you could do that.

^ Nope, you're right. Sorry, you're not going mad.

Strange... Well, you must be able to use a pre-existing name, obviously.

We just won 3 medalles on the 10km ice-skating for men! THREE! Now we've got 20 medalles.

I'm very proud of my country, considering it's so small. It gives me that union feeling, the feeling we're one. Also, I can't remember myself being this enthausiastic about sports.

Doesn't it also have a good amount of winter, which makes it easier to get good at winter sports? Most of our skiers, etc, learn and train on dry slopes. You should see how our skeleton Gold medallist trained!

Ireland never seem to do very well at sports. What is it, are you not a very active nation or something? :)

Ah no sure we're good at rugby, horse racing, golf and boxing but yeah that's about it... a-hard-days-night-paul-4

I think the main thing is we can't be bothered, the pub is more fun then kicking a ball around

Yeah, that's the problem. I'm with you there, though. Why people get up at 5 on a Saturday morning, in the middle of winter, to run about a field after a ball is completely beyond me.
