I sympathize too. Have you read Stephen King's On Writing? It's incredibly inspiring.

My professor once told me that Free Writing seems to be a good way to overcome writer's block. You would write EVERYTHING that comes out of your head, preferably on a computer so it would be easier to look back on what you have written. Eventually you would come up with something.

If that doesn't work take a break, and hopefully during the break you would come up with something brilliant without even realising it.

The same professor told us to watching the film: Finding Forrester, it had something to do with writing. The acclaimed author's technique was writing without prior thinking, he encouraged to pound the keys on the typewriter (and in this case keyboards). This should be your first draft. This is where the thinking begins.

K!! And I give that a 9.7 because it would be ten, but that's kind of an ugly number. paul-mccartney

This must have come from the High Guy meme.

L. Periwinkle.

Also happens to be the first letter of my name. And I had never heard of the word ''periwinkle'' before, what a wonderful word!

Yeah, it's a neat name, and a cool color -- sort of light blue-gray with a hint of lavender.

I first learned of it through the crayon:

Hehehe… I just thought of a way to derail this thread. The point of this thread is to talk about random things. So, if we all stick to one topic for a decent amount of posts, wouldn't it technically be derailing the thread????

You almost had me convinced, but then I realized the logical flaw.  This room isn't about randomness per se -- it's just about the impossibility of being derailed.  For that, there is no way to derail it.  There's nothing to derail this room from.

I was about to say that, but I couldn't explain it simply enough.

I feel quite sad about the possible closure of the British music shop HMV. It´s been around for years and now it might go bust (partly) because of American superstores who don´t pay their tax. I can see the highstreet becoming a ghostown one day, everyone doing their shopping online.

HMV hasnt adapted to the internet quickly enough and with money being tight for many customers are going online for cds and downloads. I havent bought a cd in HMV for years as i can get it for less online. Its certainly sad as the way the high street is going its going to be filled with poundshops, charity shops and a few big stores that can keep their finances above the rent charged but stores have to adapt to the internet age.
