And a further good luck from me, MMM. It can't be a fun thing a-hard-days-night-george-10.
Also, if I may, can someone answer me this question? Did the Beatles ever use the eventual name of a future song – in a song lyric before it was released? I was listening to Springsteen's Backstreets, and the line goes, "Slow dancing in the dark". Did the Beatles (or hell, anyone for that matter) ever do that?

I tried to think of something powerful and moving… and failed.  "You were given a choice between war and dishonor - you chose dishonor, and you shall have war" - Winston Churchill

Thanks MSK.

As for your questiond, depends on how you look at it i suppose. You could say Girl is in Thank You Girl and every song mentioning Girl pre Rubber Soul but its tedious as is Wait in Please Mister Postman. There may be others but nothing i can think of. I do have a feeling there is at least one proper one however, its nagging in my mind, but i dont know.

Going in the opposite you do have later references to earlier beatles tracks, some are obvious (Glass Onion mentions a few earlier beatle tracks (Strawberry Fields, Fixing a Hole etc); Ob-la-di… is refered to in Savoy Truffle, All You Need Is Love having calls of Yesterday and She Loves You), some not so much (Ringo calls out I Feel Fine during Honey Dont which must be a reference, Tell Me Why is noted by John just before the guitar solo in What Goes On ("i already told you why").

John calls out "can you dig it?" during the Dont Let Me Down coda but Dig It was one of Johns phrases of the month.

And moving away further the distinctive guitar jabs in She's A Woman are used again in Another Girl. The Beatles not only nicked off other artists they also nicked off themselves.

Would make an interesting topic; Beatles Songs that feature parts of other Beatles songs..

This topic reminds me of the first copy of Please Please Me I owned, an unannotated cassette recorded from a friend's CD in '87. (Didn't own my own CD player until '90.) I used to confuse "Misery" with "Ask Me Why", since the word "Misery" features so prominently in the latter song, and I knew that there was a track actually called "Misery" on the album. Not until I got my own CD copy in the early '90s did I get that personal confusion sorted out…

Anyways, the "…love is more/Than just holding hands" in "If I Fell" is presumably a nod to a big hit, likewise the "Yeah, yeah yeah!" in "Polythene Pam", maybe.

Ive read the same thing about If I Fell and its reference to I Want To Hold Your Hand. Have also read that Im Happy Just To Dance With You was a nod to IWTHYH, not sure i buy into that tho. Then there are the uhhh's in Day Tripper which are at the very least influenced by the uhhhs in Twist and Shout.

The original title of Sun King was supposedly going to be Here Comes The Sun King but got trimmed for obvious reasons.

Howie Mandel agrees with Von Bontee that Howard Wolowitz is The Big Bang Theory's Ringo…

Absolutely! Especially when he's teamed up with Penny.

Yeah, it's funny how they avoided having two similar titles on "Abbey Road", but didn't mind having Revolutions 1 and 9 sharing an album side just one year previous…

The bbc reports Paul saying in an upcoming interview with Sir David Frost to be screened soon that Yoko didnt split up the beatles. Is that still believed by some after all this time?

Believe that it's true, or believe that Paul said it? Because there are LOTS of people here who believe that she wasn't entirely to blame.

Believe that Yoko caused the split. Surely the world has moved on (not the press who still keep asking the damn question just in another way).

I laughed out loud at the caption under the photo. Thank God they told us Yoko was the one on the left. yoko-ono_01

Yoko might have been the apple. Weirdly the story would hold up if it was about Apple.

Don´t get the big revelation – Paul has being saying since 1970 that it wasn´t her fault. Isn´t there anything else going on in the world to report about??

It matters not who you love, where you love, why you love, when you love or how you love. It matters only that you love. - John Lennon

Paul's 'revelation' is still being reported on news channels within their entertainment slots. Surely Lady Gaga has dressed up as a pepperami again or one of the x-factor contestants has fallen ill threatening their ability to perform on Saturday. You know, the really important things in life that we must know.
