Question for you (the same universal “you”, which is everyone, that our Liverpool lads like to sing to):

a) Do you play guitar, or any other instrument?

b) And if so, do you play Beatlesongs like I do?

a) Yes

b) Yes

c) Laconic, aren’t I?

a) Which instrument? Guitar or otherwise?

b) Which songs particularly (just one or two that you specially like to play)?

c) yes, you are

More tomorrow on what sort of songs I play.

@Beatlebug:

  1. I play the guitar (although some people like Mockswell might not call what I do “playing”). I started thirty-five years ago, had a hiatus of ten years when I didn’t even touch a guitar, and I’m learning, or trying to learn, again. I’m basically a rhythmic guitarist. I have a Fender Strato and an acoustic guitar.
  2. These days I’m trying to figure out a nice arrangement for “Yes, It Is”; in the past my obsessions were “Strawberry Fields” and “If I Fell ”.
  3. I stopped being laconic I guess.

a.) Yeah, and I’m uniquely, equally well-below-average on both lead and rhythm. In fact I’m inept but at least I amuse myself. (Also own an alto sax, with which I used to really amuse myself with back in the early ’90s – used to haul it out to a schoolyard where the echo was really cool, and gleefully honk out all kinds of horrible stuff)

b.) Not by myself! But there’ve been plenty of times I’ve plugged in and put the White Album on, and riffed along with the Side 3 rockers. Any of their albums, really, all kinds of little guitar parts that just beg to be attempted.

Not me but one of my fave Beatles interview clips ever – Paul and Ringo be serious before George takes it. I would rewind my LATBBC cassette over repete-bestedly to hear it (ahh, the days of cassettes – i miss those in a way, (not that i ever want them back)).

Guitar, piano, bass, and drums when I have access. Learning ukelele now. (Plus a bit o’ harmonica.)

b) And if so, do you play Beatlesongs like I do?

Si! On guitar I play as many as I can, none specifically.
On the Uke I like playing Something and Ram On .
On piano lots of Macca solo stuff…

I don’t play any instruments. If I did, however, I would play Beatles songs.

Before yesterday, I could have listed several popular threads that I would ditch if given the chance. But now I found that they can serve a purpose: I can leave them unread so that my “unread topics” drop down menu will load fully.

If you use soap in the form of a bar for showers/baths, and you are the only one to use the bar, how long does a bar last you? I started a new bar this morning. I will see how long it lasts. I’ve been curious about this for a while now, but have never made the effort to actually track it.

We use the same bar. Does that mean I have to multiply the time it last times 2 in order to participate in your survey?

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I use multiple kinds of soap so the bar of soap lasts a long time.

If you both take the same number of baths/showers (perhaps you take them together for all we know), then, yes, x2 would work.

AD40, aren’t you glad I am sensible and don’t go all postal all over the forum?

And @HongKongLady , if you mean the name Beatles:

“The three guitarists (John, Paul, George), billing themselves at least three times as Johnny and the Moondogs, were playing rock and roll whenever they could find a drummer. Lennon’s art school friend Stuart Sutcliffe joined in January 1960, and it was he who suggested changing the band’s name to Beatals, as a tribute to Buddy Holly and the Crickets. They used the name through May, when they became the Silver Beetles, by early July, they had changed their name to the Silver Beatles and by the middle of August to the Beatles.” According to Wikipedia anyway :)

Plus Beatles is a nice play on words – for the bug and the fact they began with a lot of ‘beat’ music which was popular at the time.
