What's the origin of the numbers?

Re-introducing, because I'm procratinating (I should be studying right now):

I'm Linde (yep as in Lindentree, except for the tree and the N part). I just turned 19 one and a half week ago. I'm from Holland and currently I'm following adult education, as I failed my pre-university exams last year. I've signed in to study social work.

My best subjects are English and Civics, my worst is Maths. Absolutely. I just hate it so much.

Erm..about a month ago I started working at a supermarket, since I've got plenty of time since school is only 2 days a week.

I can enjoy almost every genre of music but my faves are rock, folk and metal.

Favourite foods are pizza and sushi and my favourite colour is burgundy red.

Around people I don't know well I can be quite shy and I'm also a very insecure person. I always want to please everyone and that sometimes brings me into awful situations.

My hobbies are reading, drawing, shopping and hanging out with friends. I love partying and booze and stuff but I can also just go for a picknick and have a great time.

I was practically raised on music such as the Beatles, Queen and stuff like that. I was always especially fond of the Beatles, and a few years ago I started to listen more to their music and became fascinated with them. And then I found this forum after a whileahdn_george_08

Oh, now I get it.

Yeah, I added those numbers to my signature hoping they would act as a sort of 'Bat Signal' luring them back to the Forum. It worked with MeanMrsMustard, so I'm hoping for the same result with skye and mr. Sun king coming together. There are a lot more folks I would love to see back around here as well, but I will start with the first 3 and see how that goes. :)

Look at who started this thread, and when. MeanMrsMustard is back! And hopefully not just for the one day.

Whenever I see Linde, I think of the famous American comedian Paul Lynde (tragically died before his time -- 1982, at the age of 56).  Even young people who never saw him during his heyday in the 70s can (and do) easily dial up YouTubes of his appearances on the game show Hollywood Squares occupying his prestigious post as the "center square".  His one-liners and zingers still bring a grin to my face.

If you're into 'toons, he was also the voice of Templeton the rat in the 70s Charlotte's Web movie and the Hooded Claw in Penelope Pitstop.

Interesting... I used to love Charlotte's Web, but I have no idea what Penelope Pitstop is.

Wickedly funny show from the 60s and one of my all-time favorites.

He gave me the creeps when I was a kid too, but I was also fascinated. I watched the show again a couple of years ago and couldn't believe some of the jokes that slipped past censors.

Yea I've watched shows that I watch as a kid and can't believe half the stuff that flew over my head or got away with even like old Nickelodeon shows from the 90s.

The thing that shocks me at the same time it doesn't is when I watch cartoons from the 60s like The Flintstones or The Jetson there some sexist terms. I guess back then it was no big deal because thats how it was and it flew over my head as kid.

Watched all those old shows when i was a kid. Top Cat, Pink Pather (60's and 70's only, they ruined it when they gave him a voice and funky new theme tune from the '80's onwards). The Family Ness was a favourite but doubt that got over to the US. There was a great Laurel and Hardy cartoon on the bbc.

And yes Dick Dastardly and Muttley were scarey but oddly compelling, i always wanted them to win the race and catch that damn pigeon. Same as wanting Tom to finally get Jerry, Sylvester to get Tweety (a really annoying bird) and Wile E. Cayote to get the Road Runner and scoff it down for his tea. I love Looney Tunes, Bugs, Daffy and Foghorn Leghorn being my faves. Oh and Snoopy and the Peanuts crew are still brilliant and make me laugh.

Man the things you remember.

Penny Crayon. The Poddington Peas. Jimbo. Bananaman. Bertha. Stopit and Tidyup. Dangermouse. Henry's Cat. And there was one cartoon on itv which had the characters all shaped as household objects (the policeman was a black boot) and there was a house on top of a hill which was a teapot. It was also a Bank of Scotland kids magazine. I would love to know what that was called.

I could easily go on for hours on this.
