One of the neighbors isn’t home, so he doesn’t realize his smoke detector is beeping every 30 seconds, which means the battery’s dying, which means we can all look forward to it blaring at 2 in the morning when it finally goes.

Pretty sure I complained about this 4 years ago…but again, why do people let my phone ring 13-15 times when it’s pretty obvious I have no intention of answering? (I just spoke to you last week! You know I’m watching the hockey game. Call you tomorrow.)

I guess it can depend on the size of your house. Ours is pretty large and my annoyance is only letting it ring 4-5 times and then stopping just as I am about to pick it up. And yes, I have 3 handsets scattered around.
I guess the callers just can’t win with us

Offline Wet tennis balls. Enough said.
I didn’t have any today as we are having whatever the southern hemisphere version of an Indian Summer is. It was a very hot day and it’s heading back up to 30C plus again next week when I thought we had seen the end of the heat until next spring.

I’m in a one-bedroom, 4 rings would suffice. And I have 3 receivers but always use the same one, farthest away!

Yes @Von Bontee , that makes a big difference. The place I’m in has 4 bedrooms plus study, family room plus lounge, 2 levels etc etc. If I’m not careful my handsets complain they are ‘out of range’.

Regarding that other matter, I always get amused when newer members show up, stay, and slowly become aware of THAT thread even though it long predated them.

Back on topic, I guess…thoroughly peeved by texting drivers, even though I’ve never personally been impacted by them. (Luck) Sometimes I fantastize about two idiot friends driving around solo in separate cars who collide while texting one another.
In the last couple of months I have almost been hit twice on pedestrian crossings by idiots texting while driving. It is FAR worse than the clowns who try talking with their mobiles in one hand and driving with the other.
And if this is anyone on the board – sorry – you have got to stop!!
