Yahoo feckin’ mail.

The latest issue is that it can’t send email, no reason stated why just “unable to send email”. I did a test of basic text to myself and same problem. It’s a fucking email provider – tell me more than “can’t” if there is a problem. blue-meanie

It also has this fancy new feature where links are automatically changed to blocks of text; who thought that was a much needed improvement?!!!

Anyone able to recommend an email provider service that sends email without loads of fancy guff that is ultimately useless?

Another peeve – istas.

I don’t know if it is the term I dislike or people who identify with one of the camps and try to push their opinions as objective truth.

In these parts we have the occasional Lennonista / Paulista conflicts.

Over on the Beach Boys forums I frequent we have Brianistas dive-bombing anyone who thinks anything the rest of the band put out is any good.

Parties- I went to an 18th last night and the second I walked in, I felt like I was going to simultaneously cry/throw up and then faint (imagine the mess!). I spent the rest of the night in the corner of the room, looking at people dancing, smoking and drinking while regretting I hadn’t brought my phone with me. It annoys me that I don’t get on with/amn’t like the rest of the teenagers in my year- blah!

Yeah I’m great fun…

Sorry to hear you go through that, @AppleScruffJunior . Your wonderful sense of humor made me think you would be a lot of fun at parties. Is it all parties, or just this particular one?

No bad thing not drinking or smoking @AppleScruffJunior. You’ll feel the benefits in not coughing your lungs up or spewing your guts. Their loss if you’re not in with that crowd.

I am not a real “party person”  but it’s mostly being around people I know that gets me like that ^. I only went to the above party because it was my friend’s brothers birthday and she wanted some of her mates around. The majority of people who were there- are in my year in school and we don’t really see eye to eye the majority of the time- it’s kind of personality and preference clashes. I’d prefer to be at a party where I knew no one than be at a party that I knew everyone- that and the loud music (hip-hop, rap and modern mop)  made me a bit light headed and “jumpy” for want of a better word.

I also kind of like structure and being in a place that’s jump to one area and then another and then outside, back in again, turn around, run, drink, do the hokey pokey, dance- unsettles me a bit. Also ‘raving’ isn’t really my thing-if anyone wanted to do jive/swing dancing I’d be more than happy to be their partner :P

Wow this post makes me sound pretty anxious ahdn_paul_02

Actually, it does not seem anxious at all. It’s nice that you do enjoy parties. The key is that you enjoy being with people. Real human contact is priceless. There’s nothing wrong with disliking a particular type of party. Hell, I hate (despise? loathe?) “parties” during which everyone is asked to buy something out of a catalog or some similar sleep inducing activity – ghastly!! Add that to my list of pet peeves.

I admire you for not going along with what the rest of the crowd does. It’s okay if you’re not smoking or drinking. I’ve gone to a lot of parties without drinking a lot, and I’ve gone to parties where I did drink a lot and believe me, the next morning was not pretty. I have always believed that you don’t need booze or drugs to have fun. And that doesn’t make you a boring person or ”not fun”. If anything, I think you’re a pretty boring person if you do believe you need booze and drugs to have fun. It’s absolutely not cool to pass out or do something embarrassing because you’re drunk or stoned out of your mind.

I’m the same. I enjoy parties as long as there are enough people I get along with. I once was invited by this rich hockey girl who used to be one of my best friends for her sweet 16th, and beside her I only knew one other person there who I got along with. The others were all these stuck up arrogant hockey chicks whom I vaguely knew from school or whom I disliked (or who disliked me and made no effort whatsoever to hide it) It wasn’t fun and I phoned my dad if he could pick me up almost 2 hours early and made up some lame excuse to my friend that I wasn’t feeling well. I then decided for myself to only go to parties where there would be enough people I knew and when I’d be sure it would be my kind of party. Life is too short to go to parties you know you’ll hate before you even arrive. Nothing wrong with choosing for yourself sometimes, I suppose.

People who seem to have been lobotomized when driving in the rain. blue-meanie
Why is driving in the rain so difficult? Idiots drive either way too fast or way too slow and accidents abound. This morning, my commute that normally takes an hour took two and a half hours due to three separate accidents. The last 21 miles took and hour and a half! It was only sprinkling. Right now, there is a torrential downpour and I leave the office in about an hour.
I may get home just in time to leave the house for work in the morning.paul-mccartney

Miraculously it was an uneventful, though rainy, ride home.

Had to use IE today. Having grown accustomed to Chrome and FF it was an incredibly frustrating experience. Companies, organisations and individuals who force such a piece of crap on others should be liable to pay out compensation.

Same place tried to get me to use Bing, quite possibly the worst search engine out there. Quickly got that switched to google.

Bing is horrible. It was the standard search engine on this tablet. It also used Internet Explorer and had some other slow and unnecessary apps. Thank God I’ve got a brother who knows all about this stuff

Apple Updates.

iTunes 12 is out and as with every other update it’s had its more horrible and less user friendly than the last. You’d think ease of use would be high on their list of priorities so it must have somehow got deleted from the emails they were sending around during the design stage. Thank god i’m on an old ipod, i hate to think what new design they have for thoseblue-meanie.

When people use stupid short-forms verbally when its not needed.

Example: Person A: Do we have to submit the project by Monday?

Person B: Ovio. (short for obviously)

I don’t know if it happens with you guys though. I think it’s only a trend in my stupid school.

Don’t get me started on lazy and stupid spelling and grammer that surrounds us all. I despise all this ‘tumblr’ crap, its tumbler, use the fecking ‘e’, its only one extra bloody letter.
