Hello, I'm ButterflyChaser, a Beatles fan from Finland. :D Just found this forum and decided to join. (My English skills need practising -.-)

Anyway, I like to read books and play games (especially horror games and Beatles Rock Band… and nothing else really, ha!) I love cats and music. Very nice to meet you all!

Welcome. Don't worry about the English skills, which I was worried about myself when I joined. Jump in and have fun! apple01apple01apple01

Hi Butterfly Chaser; I'm the resident Spelling Naziblue-meanie (thus, your phrase should read "My English skills need practice.").

Welcome aboard the Yellow Submarine: we set sail (a sailing submarine!) for the Octopus's Garden at 0400 hours; it should take us a couple of weeks to get there (according to the Julian Calendar of Eight Days A Week) as long as we follow the Southern Cross in the constellation of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.  Make sure to have your papers ready!

Faded flowers, wait in a jar, till the evening is complete... complete... complete... complete...

Hey everyone, I am new to this site and thought I should introduce myself.

My name is Dave, I'm 24 years old and I'm from outside Philadelphia. I grew up in a house where the Beatles were played, well, almost everyday. My father is a huge Beatles fan, the biggest I've ever met! He's named my two oldest sisters after Beatles' songs. I play drums and can strum some guitar, I've been playing since I was 3 and still play all the time. But, I can't wait to talk amongst other Beatle fanatics such as myself!

Welcome aboard – I don't recall a Dave in one of their songs, or did he run out of steam by then? :)

Hello, I've discovered your site looking for an answer to the question, just what are the people speaking at the end of "I Am The Walrus" saying?

That is what led me to your site, why I want to stay is because I have loved The Beatles since childhood, which, for me, is the mid-sixties. I saw "Help" at one of our local movie theaters, I listened to any radio station that had the Beatles in heavy rotation. (I live in The States) The Beatles are not "just a musical group" any more than Beethoven is "just a composer" And I love Beethoven.

I don't know how typical this is for other Beatles fans on this site, but going into adolescence, in the dismal 70's, (emphasis on dismal)  I really connected with "John Lennon Plastic Ono Band," "Imagine",  "All Things Must Pass" and"Living In The Material World"  I also really connected with The Who's "Quadrophenia" for pretty much the same reason that Lennon's "Working Class Hero" became an anthem for me in 1973. Living in an area dominated by heavy industry, and seeing it all turn to s**t nearly overnight, knowing, KNOWING, there was NO future, unless I got the hell out of there…

Through it all, I've never lost my love for The Beatles. I listen to them constantly. The only other musicians I pay that sort of "homage" to are Peter Gabriel and Afro Celt Sound System.

Watch out now, take care, beware of thoughts that linger, winding up inside your head, the hopelessness around you, in the dead of night, beware of sadness, it can hit you, it can hurt you, make you sore, and what is more, that is not what you are here for.

Welcome, Passchendaele. Glad you tripped across the site and decided to join us in conversation. Your rich Beatles history will be valuable to us. I'm 45 and just discovered The Beatles this year. I hope to be learning a lot from you in the times ahead.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your story.

I'm always looking for good music, as others here are, and if you have suggestions to offer for Peter Gabriel or Afro Celt Sound System, feel free to post them in one of the other All Together Now threads.

Thank you for that. It takes a bit of "getting used to" new sites for us…ahem…older users. I shant bore you with tales of mis-threaded posts that caused me to go, "Ah, for the love of….another fine site I'm too embarrassed to go back to." I am especially thankful for threads dedicated to sharing our enormously varied musical journeys. I love discovering new music, especially "world" music, and there are so few people who, or so it seems to me, have any interest at all in going beyond their musical "ghettos".

There are some musical genres that I wouldn't listen to unless I was paid to do so, but that is just me and my personal thing, I won't run them down, those musicians are getting paid to play the music they love, POWER TO E'M! Any musician who can make a living playing their music is living a charmed life. God bless e'm all.

Watch out now, take care, beware of thoughts that linger, winding up inside your head, the hopelessness around you, in the dead of night, beware of sadness, it can hit you, it can hurt you, make you sore, and what is more, that is not what you are here for.

^ I think there are a few I would pay good money to if they would STOP playing music, but I'd better not derail this thread :)

We could club together and start a collection dedicated to paying them to stop – there would need to be a legal unbreakable contract however.

Passchendaele, i wouldnt worry about mis-threaded posts, happens often here and needs a mod to come along with a strictstay-on-topic
