Hi, I finally decided to register, after lurking for a while. Great site, with lots of informations!
I'm always quite nervous when writing online, even in my own language, so sorry if my English isn't very good.

I'm Lucia, from Italy (near Florence). I still feel a bit like a teenager even though I'm turning 29 next month (don't wanna think about it…).

My "obsession" with the Beatles is a recent thing, which is strange, considering my age and the fact that I have an older cousin who likes them since he was little (When I was a kid it seemed weird to me that he could like such an old band… I was totally ignorant and stupid, of course!). Later, in an attempt to get a musical culture, I asked him to record me some of their albums, so I could listen to something more than the occasional greatest hits. I remember listening to the White Album, Rubber Soul and Sgt. Pepper, and liking them but not enough to get really interested. About Sgt. Pepper in particular, I couldn't understand why it was supposed to be so great. I was trying to listen to this music because I had to, beacuse those were some of the best albums of all times according to books and articles, so maybe it wasn't the right approach.

A few years later (not much time ago) I suddenly felt the urge to complete my Beatles collection, I don't know what happened in my head, anyway I'm glad it happened. I already had 5-6 albums, nearly all the important stuff of 1965-69… but I still didn't have Revolver (!) So I immediately purchased it, and this is the album that really got me addicted to the band. Better late than never.

Oh, and I finally could fully appreciate Sgt. Pepper. But Revolver will always be my favourite.
Don't ask me about a favourite song, there are too many and never the same (but if you want to know who's my favourite beatle I have to say George…)

Well, I hope I won't disappear after the first post.

Welcome to everyone new! Your English seems just fine, Loony-Lucy, and you're not the only one here with it as a 2nd language. Here's hoping you all jump right into our discussions, nonsense and games. We're a pretty friendly bunch.

My sister likes to read the posts on The Beatles Bible, and lately she's been bugging me about letting her post something. Is it okay if I let her post a brief introduction?

Okay, good. I can't take much more of her pestering. (And she's only 7, so I apologize in advance for her bad typing skills. I really don't feel like editing her post. No offense, sis.)

I remember thinking of the name "Luap Evoli" before, when I first saw Egroeg's name. It almost sounds Hawaiian!

It wouldn't work so well with John, however -- "Nhoj".a-hard-days-night-john-1

"Ognir Evoli" I think would be the best -- sounds like a character out of Lord of the Rings (pun intended).

Afternoon.

My name is Greg and I live in Leeds in the UK, and have been a lover of the Beatles since I first saved up my pocket money and secured the red and blue double albums in my early-teens! My first purchase, along with a used copy of 'With The Beatles', the doubles seemed a great way to get more bang for buck tunes due to my lack of coinage! And they got some good hammer on the auld record player! Sunday mornings involved jostling for positions as my dad was always hell bent on getting Johnny Cash on the spinning wheel… so some good music fighting for airtime!

I am a Hospital Porter in my work, and also a budding artist in my spare time. I draw mainly motorbikes / speedway as drawing them is my first love, and have done the rare piece of icon work doing faces and the famous.

I am a fan of all of The Beatles, though I do have a soft spot for John and Ringo. I loved John for his dry and sarcastic wit, and Ringo due the fact that, although he is a great drummer, he did have a face that said "I've done alright winding up playing with these lads!"

I will also post this in the main forum if that is okay, and I hope to feel the love in the room on this nice site.

Peace.
