OfflineHello Everyone!
I have actually been coming to this site for a long time just to read it- so much great info on here! I decided to join the forum this morning as I really would love to chat with other like minded fanatics about my favorite topic-The Beatles!
My name is Lizz, I am 36 years old and I am from Southern New Jersey.. I have been a lifelong Beatles fan.One of my earliest memories unfortunately was of the day Lennon was shot. I was almost 5 years old and was in the kitchen with my Mama at the breakfast table and the news came on and I just remember her crying and crying and so I began to cry with her
One of my favorite things to do as a child was lay on the floor in front of the old hi- fi stereo and listen to The Beatles records and look at the sleeves! I have been building a vinyl collection again(just love the sound of records with all the hisses and pops!) and I just smile when my kids do the same. My 7 year old son is becoming quite the Beatles fanatic as well. He can tell you who is singing any given song, when it was recorded and on which album. And so the family tradition continues, lol!
I am so excited that the Beatles are releasing their albums onto vinyl- the quality of 180 gram press sounds so much better than a lot of the junk that was pressed in the late 70's and 80's. It costs a bit more but it is so worth it! I know what I am asking Santa for this Christmas!
oh and I had to put one of these smileys here- love them!

OfflineEllo All!
My name's Frankie (as in Frances- I'm a girl) and I'm a teenager from East London.
My favourite Beatles albums are Rubber Soul, With the Beatles and Let It Be. My Dad was born in the same hospital as John Lennon and I've seen Paul live 3 times (if anybody heard about him and Bruce Springsteen getting cut off at Hyde Park, it wasn't actually as shocking as it sounded in the papers. They'd re-started Twist and Shout about 4 times already, and it wasn't as if they were turned off mid-song)
My favourite Beatle is George.
But Paul is an extremely close 2nd.
Other music I like is Green Day, Simon & Garfunkel, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen, The Beach Boys, Bon Jovi, Amy MacDonald, Jamie Cullum and some Classical. But I'll listen to most stuff really, even One Direction if I have to.
Other stuff I like is tennis (I'm a massive Roger Federer fan), reading, playing the flute (badly), swimming, writing, Doctor Who, Sherlock (yeah, I'm a total geek), Girl Guiding (which is cool by the way) and playing cards.
"I don't think we were actually swimming, as it were, with shirts on, 'cos we always wear overcoats when we're swimming,"-

OfflineWelcome Frankie!!
I knew when I read it in the papers that they were probably over-exaggerating, trying to make small events sound more interesting, I spose. (How cool that you were there though!!)
Oh, and my fave Beatle is also George ![]()

OfflineHello my name is a Brian or TremblingWilbury as I'm going by on here. I'm 20 years old and have been a Beatles for pretty much my entire life. As I type this, I'm listening to what I would be normally listening to of course, Beatles music. I've been a fan since I was about 8 years old when my mom popped in the Beatles 1 album into her cd player in her car. Since then I've been hooked on the Beatles. It wasn't till a couple of years ago, I decided to collect the albums on vinyl. Since then I've amassed a small collection of Beatles albums and solo works. As you could tell from my avatar my favorite Beatle is George Harrison. His sense of spirituality and neglect for the need of material things has shaped me into the person who I am today.

Offlinehello to all you fans of the greatest group that there has ever been or ever will be.
Growing up in the late seventies early eighties I was fortunate enough to have two older sisters who were Beatle crazy. I caught the fever and continue to love thier music. I love all the other music from the sixties but it starts and ends with the Beatles.

OfflineHello everyone. I'm not really a "Beatles fan" per se, in the sense of a "Beatlemaniac" or being in some kind of club. I do rate the Beatles high on my list of favorite bands, however, and in certain ways I see they are the best. Many of their songs are solid gold, inimitably exquisite.
I've been through that phase of playing Beatles albums a lot many years ago, then growing bored with it and moving on to other music. Only recently have I felt ready to revisit those old albums, and it's great fun to rekindle them. I like to play acoustic guitar along with music I like, and often I play "bass" on the lower 3 strings. Recently I learned the chords to "Hello, Goodbye" and added that to my hobby, playing bass notes along with the song.
I also rank James Taylor, Paul Simon, Gordon Lightfoot, Stevie Wonder and Phoebe Snow high on my list, and I also really love Santana (especially the first five albums), as well as the first six Chicago albums, the first four War albums, the first three Osibisa albums, and in the jazz realm -- Dave Brubeck, Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis, and Herbie Mann. Frankly, I listen to these artists (and that includes post-Beatles McCartney!) far more than the Beatles…
But I find myself fascinated by Beatles trivia, and so I'll likely linger on this site quite often.

OfflineI have been reading this site off and on over the last few months and decided it was time to join the group. I was too young to appreciate The Beatles' American TV "bow" on The Ed Sullivan Show, but I do recall an excitement in the air coming from my older brothers and sister. It wasn't until i was the ripe old age of 6 when my brother Rudy introduced to me to The Beatles and before long I was singing their tunes as I swung on the backyard swing set. My oldest brother even had a band called The Rubber Souls.
Flash forward many years and I'm in high school when a friend gives me a Christmas present of the album Imagine. That pretty much did it for me. As an actor I hold as my inspirations James Dean, Humphrey Bogart and Canada Lee; but as a singer and occasional songwriter, John Lennon was the inspiration and his inspirations also – the list begins with Buddy Holly, and most of you here, I'm sure, know the rest.
My current favorite song is "If I Fell", the home demo version. It is amazing on so many levels, not the least of which are the "Holly hiccups" that didn't make the final version.
I hope I'm able to contribute some to these forums and link to articles I've written about The Beatles and John Lennon (where appropriate, of course!) and lastly to continue to enjoy the wide ranging discussions contained herein.
