Hi my name is tim i'm from austria and i'm 12 years old (that's why my english is not so good). I'm a big beatles fan, they're my favourite band next to the wings. My 3rd favourite band are the stones i think. The first beatles albums i knew were the red and the Blue Album because my father owned them and i like them so much that i got the 2009 stereo box set for christmas. In the other years i also got anthology, Live At The BBC, love, naked all wings albums and some lennon and some harrison albums

Hi atlesbe, and welcome. We have a few Spanish speakers here, though most conversation happens in English (I feel it becomes more inclusive if everybody uses the same language, though wouldn't want people to start Spanish-only threads if they like).

EDIT that should have been "wouldn't want people NOT to start Spanish-only threads if they like". Basically, go ahead a-hard-days-night-george-10

Glad you could join us. I'm Joe – I run this site, and occasionally pop by the forum to apologise for breaking things.

Hello all, I will try and keep this brief as possible!

My name is Emily and I'm 13 years old (14 in July), I am from a town called Sutton Coldfield outside Birmingham in England, UK, Earth etc. I am a vegetarian, a pacifist and I believe strongly in equalism and rights for all!I have grown up listening to The Beatles because my dad is a bit of a fan but I only got into them myself at the start of this year when my music teacher played a section of 'All My Loving' in class, from then on I have been a massive fan, a beatlemaniac (sorry John, I know you didn't like that expression).

I listen to The Beatles for an average of 1 hour-2 hours every day (my grades have declined since discovering them, needless to say!), apart from on Sundays because I listen to this fab radio show called Beatles Brunch on Absloute Radio 60's, which is on for two hours (10.00-12.00), and then I listen to them in the afternoon as well for about another hour or two, so all in all, I suppose you could say that I like them quite a lot!

They rule most aspects of my life and I'm completely happy with that, I can't believe I used to listen to people like Lady Gaga and Rihanna (sorry if there's people out there that like them, I don't mean to offend anybody!).

A couple of months ago, I read comments on YouTube saying 'I wish I lived in the 60's'' and ''I'm a 60's girl at heart'' and that kind of thing and I thought, god, that's a bit wierd but, now, I can honestly say that I wish I had as well, I don't feel as if I belong in the modern day society, which is actually quite a bad thing because it means that I fit in with very few people, but never mind, I'm me, and I'm happy with that!

So, that's me, hello :)

Welcome Emily! Beatles are great, but unless you're pretty sure you'll be the next John, Paul, George or Ringo, don't let those grades down!

In fact, use your Beatle knowledge to get better grades! (Learn the history of the Great Britain, Europe, America 1940-1970) through the Beatles.)

What about Canada? We've still here, you know.

But Canada is part of America (North America to be specific of course)!

But yes, I should have put "etc …"   -    after all, isn't there also Australia [any Australian members of the Forum?],  ETC…?

Hello everyone! My name is Dom, and I'm a huge Beatlemaniac. I was born in the late 90's, and I believe I first properly discovered the Beatles in the summer of 2010. Since the days of me listening to Yellow Submarine and With a Little Help From My Friends via YouTube almost two years ago, the Beatles have genuinely changed my life and have inspired me to learn the guitar. They have opened my eyes to music as a whole, and I also enjoy their solo careers immensely. Although I only have hard copies of the Red & Blue albums, I have since bought plenty of other songs from iTunes that are absent on them, and one of my favourite books of all time is "Shout! The True Story of The Beatles" by Philip Norman. I couldn't possibly choose who my favourite Beatle is, but I particularly idolise John and George, because of their notable "no nonsense" attitude. Like others, I sometimes wish I could have been born early enough to witness Beatlemania first-hand during the 60's, and, after reading the aforementioned biography and seeing Nowhere Boy for example, I also think 50's Liverpool, while they were growing up, is a fascinating chapter in their history. How did I get into the Beatles? Well, along with wanting to find out more about this mythical band that I kept hearing about, I also remember finding out that Ringo Starr, who narrated Thomas the Tank Engine during the 80's, was their drummer. Thomas were a huge part of my formative years, and even now, unusual as it may sound makes me feel wonderfully nostalgic if I ever watch the classic series. So I guess a little blue steam engine was one of the ways I ended up discovering the Beatles!

My other interests include dinosaurs & palaeontology (huge fan of the Jurassic Park franchise), Doctor Who and good films/music. Thanks for reading!

Thank you for the welcome everybody!

Although my grades have gone down-hill, I do find myself telling my parents about things that happened in the 60's, to The Beatles and stuff like that which shuts my dad up because he thought he knew everything about well, everything really, but especially 60's-related happenings, which makes me happy! :)

I do not thInk that makes up for getting bad grades. In a couple years you will be getting a GED, all because of some band you might not even like in a year from now.

Why cant you enjoy the beatles whilst studying? No band is worth losing marks over. Unless your following the beatles own schooling habits which is not a good idea unless you are planning on being a musician.
