Hi Dorian! I'm Xochitl (or call me Till, or Juney, though none of my names were adopted here…), I'm thirteen years old and I'm from California. John is my favorite Beatle. I collect records.

How long have you been a Beatle fan?

Ok, lets see: I live in Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. It's hard to say what my fav song is. I am indeed a fan of Ringo. a-hard-days-night-ringo-10 I became a Beatles fan because my pap and I found some Beatles albums and he gave them to me. My first albums were Something New, Rubber Soul and Songs, Pictures and Stories of the Fabulous Beatles. I collect albums and 45s and memorabilia. Oh and I've been a fan for about 2 years.

Nice to meet you Dorian! I'm MND from Indiana (the state of bi polar weather as I like to call it) And it's really cool that you collect 45's. My family has around 10 original Beatle 45's actually. (But I'd rather they were the British ones instead of the odd American ones. They feel too much like compilation albums.)

I have some British records, but I collect mainly US records. I agree that the British ones sound better too.

Cool! I just started my collection. Do you guys have some good record shops near to where you live? Or where do you find yours?

I have a nice one in Pittsburgh called the Attic Record Store. I get most of mine on eBay and at flea markets and stuff like that.

Flea markets. Good idea. I'm just discovering the wonderful world of record hunting, it's quite fun.

For instance, I found a rare album at a flea market worth like $800. I only paid 10 bucks. You never know what you'll find. a-hard-days-night-ringo-15

As am I. I mentioned in a different thread that I discovered a used record store within a couple of miles of my house and I love it.

Also, since my wife enjoys antiquing, I now have another reason to go along – other than having her bribe me with the promise of breakfast or lunch out!

If I want music in the original packaging, I still go to Amazon via this site (Joe gets credit for the site), but hunting down used stuff is really cool.

Yeah, actually, Zig, I have a question about that. How much credit goes to the site from the purchase?

I don't think he knows. It's probably a percentage, so the more expensive, the more he gets.

I'm not really sure, Till.

Still, I'd be willing to bet I've ordered enough over the past 18 months or so to fund a small country!
