OfflineWelcome Taru! Is it true that there is a word in Finnish meaning "Strawberry Fields Forever"?
I initially thought John was singing in both Yellow Submarine and Something, and Lady Madonna for that matter. And Penny Lane. I'm not sure whether I'm more embarrassed by Penny Lane or Yellow Submarine.
I really want to use
, but I haven't had a chance yet, so there we go.

OfflineWow, Strawberry Fields sounds a lot cooler in Finnish! Or at least it looks cooler. I don’t know how to pronounce it all.
Oh, btw, today I Wikipedia-d “Long, long, long” and apparently John didn’t even participate in the recording of the track! That totally shatters my entire universe. (Not really, just quoting “Hot Rod.”) I always thought that song had a very John-ish vibe to it. Oh well, I’m still going to picture the four of them playing together out in a sunny field when I listen to it. In fact, I will listen to it right now …

OfflineHello peoples!
After spending hours procrastinating online reading the forums and the rest of the site (wonderful work, much appreciated!) decided to join now. Shortly, I'm Finnish, 25, female, married, work by the computer all day and spend way too much time on the net not doing my work and singing songs in my head. We're unfortunately not allowed to keep music on at work, seeing as I work in a pharmacy.
As far as the music goes, I'm a fairly new recruit for the full-time fanaticism. I spent years under the delusion that I don't like the Beatles due to badly done cover-songs… then a few years ago I took a long, hard look at my playlist on the computer and noticed that the songs that I play the most are all from about 10-15 years before I was born, and most of those were by the Beatles. Shortly thereafter I acquired all the albums (remastered in mono) and have converted to Beatlesism. What an amazingly diverse band, I can't think of any other group who have such fantastic music. No two songs sound identical.
I also belong to the born 40 years old group. I enjoy dry wit, word games, sarcasm, puns and cleverness. I do not enjoy most of the modern tripe that goes about these days
I grew up in the Heart of Africa, we didn't have fancy things like "radio" or western music programmes, or cartoons… We got indian music tv, that didn't have much music that appealed to me. We got some cassettes from visitors from abroad, remember listening to recordings of Cream, Eric Clapton and Genesis growing up. I also remember my father playing the Beatles tunes on the flute as bedtime stories when I was little.

OfflineThanks all, what a welcoming bunch
I'm actually more of a Paul fan, got to love that bass playing, but Ringo is cute too, and my spelling has been atrocious lately, hence the av
Yes, I'm finnish too… somebody was asking if there's a word for "strawberry fields forever", and it could be stuffed into one word: Ikimansikkapellot.

I love it! I don't know if I would name a pet after that, but I love it!

OfflineHi everyone! I found this awesome website a while ago, but for some odd reason I didn’t become a member until now. Anyway, I’m Sophie, soon 17 years old and from Sweden. I’ve been listening to The Beatles since I was ten years old and heard Twist and Shout for the first time. Love all of them of course, but George has always been my favourite Beatle. My favourite album is Revolver. (Although I change my mind about that a lot).
Except for The Beatles and their solo work I like Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Kinks, The Stones and other music similar to that.
That was my little intro I guess.
