Happy Macca Day! Will there be cake?

Thank you! Cake I do not guarantee much, but music, laughs, cries, screams, I guarantee! (thankfully my parents have become accustomed!)

Hi friends! Let me tell you a story?

I know that you speak English, what the songs say is already evident. But, for me, for example, who speaks Portuguese, when I started listening to The Beatles I do not know what the songs were saying. Call me crazy, but I’ll tell the craziest thing I ever heard. I downloaded famous songs of The Beatles and saved them. When I started listening, I left at random, I only knew a few. It was a time when I was about to graduate, so many friends would no longer be with me next year. In these times, listening in shuffle, I hear a “tam tam tam tam tam tam” and I stopped listening.
That melody passed me feel all that climate farewell that soon I would have, and said, with its melody, which I would never forget those people. I went to see the name of the song: In my life
What was my surprise when I downloaded a video (the one that appears at the opening of Anthology) which had the song translated. The music spoke exactly what I thought when I heard it. How is this possible? I do not know.
And there’s more! In that clip, has a faint fan being charged by police. But I did not know that, I barely knew the names of the members! Know who and found it to be? John being born dead. As much as I cried was not counting on his fingers. And when I found myself, I was crying for someone I barely knew! The perir there, I saw that band had the power to touch me (literally) by the time I needed, and I never stopped!
Today I understand very well that clip, is the band’s history practically, and I still cry when I see it because it was where it all began …
Sorry big text, but I needed to tell it. Now I ask you: how the melody that I knew what the song was talking, and I did not know English and had never seen a translation of it?

A Nato conference is happening here in south Wales. There are armed police everywhere.

The blue caps – instead of helmets – are apparently to make them seem less threatening. Yep. For those who don’t know the UK, we’re not used to seeing armed police wandering around unless it’s in an airport or an important building. The whole city is very odd at the moment – the people who live here are getting rather fed up with it all.

Boys and their toys. It all feels like a weird pissing contest in which our city is the loser.

“Look at my soothing hat and not the f***ing machine gun!” Are you kidding me? Unfortunately, here in the States, armed police are the norm and not the exception. They don’t wander the streets wielding assault rifles, mind you. But they do carry pistols, tasers and mace/pepper spray. They pretty much have too because every two-bit hoodlum is armed as well.

I don’t think this type of situation is what our forefathers had in mind when they insisted on our right to bear arms. I have nothing against gun ownership for people who enjoy hunting with rifles made specifically for that purpose. I do however, have a HUUUUUGE problem with private citizens owning pistols and/or assualt rifles. Let’s face it, what are they going to be used for? Are you going to blow that deer to bits with an Uzi? Not likely. Are you going to ask that moose “Do you feel lucky, punk?” while pointing a 44 Magnum at it’s head? Uh, don’t think so. They are going to be used to cause great bodily harm to someone or at least separate said someone from a vital body part. Guns don’t kill people – people with guns kill people.

*hops angrily off soap box*

*hops on for a quick word*

Those are my feelings, @Zig.

In a perfect world we could have no guns, but it’s not a perfect world. If you think about the times those words were written in the constitution, the areas early settlers were inhabiting were still wilderness, and they needed weapons to protect themselves from large animals (bears, etc.), or others trying to steal food/important items. Now that that is ingrained in our society there’s no removing it. For hunters and those who shoot for sport (targets etc.) it makes sense, but for ordinary citizens its good to have the right to have a gun (not an automatic weapon!) to protect only from others who are armed. Cops must have them as they run into people carrying more often.

The only reason I believe we should have the right to bear arms is that criminals are criminals. Making it a law that people can’t have guns will keep them out of the hands of law-abiding citizens, and will make no difference to the “bad guys” as that’s the whole point, criminals don’t care about the law. They’ll still find a way to get their hands on them and then the people getting attacked won’t be able to defend themselves.

Guns should be harder to access and should have a more thorough screening process (although many states are pretty good about this now), but they shouldn’t be taken away from people who keep them in case of an emergency.

*removes soap box from building*

BTW, the hats are pretty damn funny.

I guess John was able to accurately translate his feelings into music, and you felt through the music what he did.

Shucks, I don’t think it is. LD joined the day before I handed out the post-it note. But, I wonder if it is someone from one of the classes I taught on the 3rd when I used ISWD’s book as one of my examples.?.?

This is one of the reasons why I love the Beatles. The music speaks to you. This is also the exact reason why I created the “Beatley Moments” thread. Seeing someone wearing a Beatles T-shirt or hearing a Beatles song in a cafe is cool. Being touched by the music in a moment when you really need it, or when the situation calls for it is wonderfully, soulfully bliss. Thanks for sharing yours. Long live the Fabs.

I finally decided to tell someone what’s going on at home and in my head. Three of my classmates know now, and it felt really good to be able to talk about it with people who understand and actually give a fuck, and who know how to react.

Also started my internship on Wednesday. We divided the weeks in themes and then we have to come up with a whole program for the afternoon you were assigned to. I got the theme of ”light”, which is pretty hard, aaaaaand I am in charge of the Christmas celebrationahdn_george_06which I was happy about, because you all know how much I love Christmas.

Good luck with all, @DrBeatle.

My internet provider is fecking up again, but fecking up in a good way this time. I put 3gb on on Wednesday. I spent a while downloaded and thought I’d check where I was, and I was still on 2.9gb. I knew I downloaded more than 100mb, but it wasn’t showing, so I carried on. A couple of hours latter, still said 2.9. Dropped down to 2.8 a little later, than a few hours it was down to 2.2gb, and I thought normal service had resumed. But no, hasn’t moved from there since. And I should have – I’ve downloaded a 1.3gb file and two 600mb+ files, and other stuff, and it still says 2.2gb. Don’t know how long it will last, but I am taking advantage while it does!!!!
