Green Day went mainstream in 1994. Not to sound like a jerk, but you’re 13. That’s 3 years before you were even born!

What’s wrong with being mainstream anyways? The Beatles are the most mainstream band ever!

Green Day’s good, they were my favorite band for about a month at one point, but once I got into The Beatles I relized that they’re writing wasn’t much better than mine, and they’re only pretty good musiciens, they didn’t really innovate either. But, compared to some artists/groupes today they are pretty damn good, but really they’re so are either annoying or decent. It’s in my opinion as a true music lover, and music writer (hobby) that they are simply no better than any mediocre band of these days, as for The Who’s rumored Rock Band, well… that would be worth taking a look into.

When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".

After Dookie they started to suck. Bad. Really bad.

"The best band? The Beatles. The most overrated band? The Beatles."

They started to suck really bad after Dookie? Explain this to me. Because I don’t see it.

I like some of their songs like Basket Case. I hope to get the game. I like that there newest albums tell a story through music (though I can’t see the story in 21st Century Breakdown) which is always fun. I don’t think they will be doing a Who Rock Band though, they’ve released too many of their songs on the DLC to make a great game.

The story in 21stCB is a little hard to follow, but it starts to make sense after a bit. It’s definitely not as structured as American Idiot, but the story is there. If you like the stories like that, try giving their song “Misery ” off of their 2000 album Warning a listen. That’s the first song that tells a story with characters, and it’s pretty damn cool!

I don’t think a Who Rock Band would be very fun. They don’t have the appeal that Green Day or The Beatles have.

Not only that, but whoever plays Pete Townshend will have to keep buying new equipment.

Well The Who have a little less appeal than The Beatles, but they are unbelievably better than Green Day, like NO FRIKKIN CONTEST. Being honest here.

HammerDealer….I agree with you all the way.  Comparing The Who to Green Day musically is no contest.  Put Tommy up against any album that Green Day has made and you will see the difference right away.  The Who were just so drastically different for their time that people had a hard time coming to the music, but they were one of the bands that helped mold music into what it is today!

The Who are not relevant anymore. They paved the way for Green Day to be able to do albums like American Idiot – but they are no longer relevant. They never did anything groundbreaking.

I know it’s cool to hate on Green Day now, but honestly, they’re the only popular band that’s still around that does anything worthwhile. The only band that breaks new ground and goes the extra mile.

I don’t love every Green Day song, there’s quite a few that I despise, that with The Beatles. But to say that they “suck” or that they’re not good is a lie.

I don’t think anyone was comparing Green Day to The Who. All I’m saying is that they’re not relevant enough to have their own game. Harmonix would loose a ton of money if they tried to do a Who Rock Band.

It’s funny that I ask if anyone is a fan of Green Day or if anyone got the game, and I feel like I’m being attacked for liking them.

Well frankly, your saying things about Green Day that are not true. You have to really think about it, but they’re fine, musically, but what about lyrics, without lyrics you’re nothing… and I am not seeing any emotion from Green Day, besides ‘kind of angry… I think’. Like I said they’re not bad, and I have nothing personnal against you (obvious). But, I just think The Who did break some ground, and are very relevant to a forum about classic rock music.

When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".

A great band will always be relevent.  Just because you feel they aren’t doesn’t make it so.  Their relevence is related to the fact that music would not be where it is without bands such as them leading the way.  I’m not knocking you for liking Green Day, they have a couple songs that I like, and frankly even if I hated them it wouldn’t matter because you like them and that’s all that should matter.  My point was just to say that it’s unfair to compare The Who, and trash them becuase you like Green Day better.  The Who were revolutionary, and I’m fairly sure that if you asked the members of Green Day what they felt, they would feel that The Who are still relevent today.

woooo dead thread

I really like Green Day. And for all the people saying “Green Day is not punk” well they made American Idiot, which is like saying “F*** YOU!” to George Bush. How savage is that!?

Also on the topic of Rock Band, I hope they make a Nirvana: Rock Band.

I thought I’d tell you guys what I think about this game.

Playability:

Nothing special here, it plays just like any other Rock Band game, nothing special but nothing bad, so average.

Graphics:

There are some flaws here. First of all, Billie seems unable to make proper chords. Just watch him play in game and you can tell they weren’t trying as hard as they were on The Beatles Rock Band. Also, as with The Beatles Rock Band, only Green Day are included, so Jason White, despite the fact that he played with them both live and in the studio, is not.

Setlist:

This is what kills the game for me, the setlist sucks, here’s the setlist:

1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours (1991)

Nothing

Kerplunk (1992)

Nothing

Dookie (1994)

Whole album except for All By Myself

Insomniac (1995)

Geek Stink Breath

Brain Stew/Jaded (separate tracks on album but combined here)

Nimrod (1997)

Nice Guys Finish Last

Hitchin’ A Ride

Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

Warning (2000)

Warning

Minority

3 new tracks from International Superhits (2001)

Nothing

Shenanigans (2002)

Nothing

American Idiot (2004)

Whole album

Stop, Drop, And Roll (2008)

Nothing

21st Century Breakdown (2009)

Whole album, although you need to download Know Your Enemy, Viva La Gloria, East Jesus Nowhere, Christian’s Inferno, Last Of The American Girls, and 21 Guns, unless if you have Green Day Rock Band Plus

What a terrible setlist. You could say that The Beatles Rock Band has a bad setlist as well because it is missing critical songs such as Hey Jude and Let It Be , but at least there’s a balance in the setlist for that game. Imagine if The Beatles Rock Band decided to use this setlist:

Please Please Me (1963)

Nothing

With The Beatles (1963)

Nothing

A Hard Day’s Night (1964)

Whole album

Beatles For Sale (1964)

Eight Days A Week

Help ! (1965)

Help !

Ticket To Ride

Yesterday

Rubber Soul (1965)

Nothing

Revolver (1966)

Nothing

Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967)

Whole album

Magical Mystery Tour (1967)

Hello Goodbye

All You Need Is Love

The Beatles (1968)

Whole album, although Dear Prudence , Glass Onion , I’m So Tired , Birthday , Helter Skelter , and Honey Pie are only available by download

Abbey Road (1969)

Whole album except for Her Majesty

Let It Be (1970)

Nothing

Past Masters (1988)

Nothing

That would be terrible, who decided that for Green Day Rock Band, they were going to take their 2 most popular albums and put all listed tracks on disc, have their most recent album 66% on disc but the user needs to pay extra to get the missing songs (by the way, there’s a trophy that requires these songs, so this is an example of a game where you need DLC in order to truly complete it), and for the rest of the albums, if they were released before their first successful album, don’t put them on there, if it was released after their first successful album, only put their biggest hits on there, if there are no hits from that album, don’t put anything from that album in the game.

Here is a better setlist for the game:

1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours (1991)

Going To Pasalaqua

Paper Lanterns

Knowledge

Kerplunk (1992)

2,000 Light Years Away

Christie Road

My Generation

Dookie (1994)

Burnout

Chump/Longview

Welcome To Paradise

Basket Case

She

When I Come Around

F.O.D

All By Myself

Insomniac (1995)

Stuck With Me

Geek Stink Breath

86

Brain Stew/Jaded

Walking Contradiction

Nimrod (1997)

Nice Guys Finish Last

Hitchin’ A Ride

Redundant

Platypus (I Hate You)

King For A Day

Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

Warning (2000)

Warning

Blood, Sex, And Booze

Waiting

Minority

Macy’s Day Parade

International Superhits (2001)

Maria

Poprocks And Coke

J.A.R.

Shenanigans (2002)

Ha Ha You’re Dead

American Idiot (2004)

American Idiot

Jesus Of Suburbia

Holiday

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

Wake Me Up When September Ends

Stop, Drop, And Roll (2008)

Mother Mary

21st Century Breakdown (2009)

Song Of The Century/21st Century Breakdown

Know Your Enemy

¡Viva La Gloria!

Before The Lobotomy

Christian’s Inferno

East Jesus Nowhere

Last Of The American Girls/Murder City

21 Guns

Other:

The Simpsons Theme (2007)
