This is designed as sort of an antidote to the wishing thread, a place to post all the things you’re thankful for.

A word from a Beatle:

I’m grateful to share a world with Paul and Ringo, and to live on a planet on which George and John once walked. And to have had them all together, even though it was only for a few years, long before I was born.

I’m grateful there is music in the world that has the power to bring so many people together, of all ages and distinctions, Across The Universe , as the Beatles’ music has.

These are a (very) few of the things I appreciate. What about you?

I’m thankful that HKL obtained a tourist visa to visit Australia in December and extend my appreciation to the Immigration officers in HK who made it so.

I hope I can catch up with her while she’s out here 😉

I’m thankful that my grandma is still here. I know It Won’t Be Long anymore, probably even before Christmas, but I’m glad she’s still here at the moment, and didn’t go in February, as everyone thought she would.

I am appreciative that we had/have the opportunity and means to give our “last chance” pets a happy life. They have both blossomed into their own wonderful personalities. We could not imagine our lives without them.

BTW, nice thread @Beatlebug .

I am thankful that Adolphus Sax was born 201 years ago today because otherwise we wouldn’t have the saxophone fabosity evident in in many Pink Floyd and George  Harrison songs.

I also appreciate that nice licky sound of a steel-stringed acoustic guitar being flat-picked.

Silly Dad’s. a-hard-days-night-john-6

Looking at them for you, AG, they say Sony MDR-V150. So I guess that would be it. (Oh, and I hit ‘thank’ by mistake– it generally ain’t the thing to thank a question, oops.)

I have the same ones, SG. Those are my favorite non-noise cancelling headphones. Very inexpensive, with a great sound.

I appreciate life itself. Family (particularly my grandparents and their cats). And cold weather during the winter-time.  And this fab book I’m reading (called The Plot Against America if you’re wondering). And Star Wars. ahdn_george_06 And Pink Floyd– I really appreciate Pink Floyd. a-hard-days-night-john-6 And homemade waffles with strawberry preserves. And a comfortable cozy bed with blankets and pillows and guitars and nice things like that. And ‘Breathe’– the song and the ability to do so. And the subtle difference between David Gilmour’s and Roger Waters’ voices. And waking up at four a.m. for no particular reason and being able to get back to sleepiness by listening to This Boy , Across The Universe (twice), I Will , Julia , Never Get Over You, and Marwa Blues (twice) on headphones. a-hard-days-night-john-1 And George’s deliciously gleaming slide guitar-work. And Mr Gilmour’s slide guitar work, which is so reminiscent of and yet so unlike George’s. And Nick Mason’s drumming– man, he might even be my favourite Floyd.

That I appreciate the Beatles goes without saying… heartheartheart

You wrote this on my birthday, and I could not agree more. I, too, am grateful to have been alive at the same time as John, George, Paul, and Ringo (albeit briefly in John’s case, since I was born in 1978). I am very grateful for music in general, and the Beatles in particular. Paul specifically has played a key role in my life, although he’ll never know it. Without his (solo) music, and one song in particular, I very possibly would not have been alive now. So yes, I am infinitely grateful for those four lads and all they achieved. heart

I’m also grateful to a great many other things, including – but not limited to – being ginger, having the nicest cats in the world, chocolate, my imagination, my insanity (seriously, who wants to be normal?), Forumpool and its inhabitants, and the list goes on.
