It's funny, every year in the Pop Candy blog of USA Today, someone always beings up the Worst Ever Christmas Songs, and Paul's is always on there somewhere.

I'm glad this came up – the song really isn't that good. I always think, "Paulie, Paulie, Paulie – tell me you couldn't have come up with something much better".

Would you like my rewritten Wonderful Christmas time?

What do you think of Elton John's "Step into Christmas?" Or even "Christmas" by The Who?

The person who posted this says he took out the original song and replaced it with the one performed solely by The Who. It's kind of a good thing because the person who played the dad was terrible at singing.

I think I mentioned up thread that I love The Kinks' Father Christmas and I was playing it a couple years back and my roommate who had never heard the song snapped out of whatever she was doing and asked me "What the hell is THAT?!" Still, I love the song. It's not as terrible as it sounds.

I don't know if I already mentioned this, but:

And this one is too catchy, I can't play cool and ignore this one:

I've never heard these lads. Can you post some more videos of their songs?

Meh, they sound okay. Besides, guitar music is on the way out.

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

Oh. My. Photoshop.

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Oh god, I'm not sure how I feel about John's song right now. I love John in it, but all I can hear in my head is Yoko and those kids singing "war is over…if you want it…." and it's been on repeat in my head for about six hours now. a-hard-days-night-ringo-13

Has anyone mentioned Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song? That's one of my favorites.

I just read this part in this book called Musicophilia where they talk about Bing Crosby's White Christmas and how familiar everyone is with it. They did an experiment where they said that they were going to play the song but didn't, but everyone "listening" to the song said that they heard the song being played. What ended up happening is that it just started to play in everyone's head and they all could have sworn that it was coming from the radio. I'm trying to do that now to get Yoko out of my head, but she's a tough one to get rid of.blue-meanie

I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine

I dunno… that chorus is to me the cheesy factor all Christmas songs must have. (It's the lyrics in some songs, etc)

And of course I've heard it. It's awesome *adding to list*
