OfflineI can always classify myself as a Classic Rock listener. But I will listen to anything except country (with maybe the exception of Johnny Cash). I am finding myself recently listening to some blues stuff. I enjoy punk, some metal, jazz, classical, hip-hop/rap (mainly old school rap; none of this crap from today), pop, reggae, R&B/Soul. On the occassion I do enjoy some Spanish music and Indian.
I'm more prone to listening to music from the '60s, '70s, and '80s.

Duh. You're a Beatles fan.
OK, so I'm on a major The Rite of Spring kick.
But seriously. Isn't 0:00-0:20 in this video the awesomest opening ever?
mr. Sun king coming together said And yes, YouTube comments are stupid. But hilariously so.

Perhaps this would be a good time to bring up a post by StarWisher about last.fm because it would be cool to keep up with what we are all listening to.
How easy is it to create playlists on last.fm? I signed up a while back, but I was frustrated about not being able to listen to the music I wanted to. Having said that, my first two songs were two of my favourites, Brimful of Asha () and What Is Life.
I enjoy most forms of rock, with the only exception being hardcore punk (which I maintain isn't punk at all). I also like Motown, funk, jazz, and some hip hop.

Well I like a lot of different types of music but lately I've kind of been leaning toward reggae music. But this is really only just very recently so I'm going to start out with the classics like Bob Marley especially since I don't know too much about the genre. But I hope to learn a lot this summer.
I tried reggae out, but unfortunately I found that not everyone sounds as good as Bob Marley. However, I found a band called Toots and the Maytals that you might enjoy, check out their song called Funky Kingston, it's a lot of fun.
As for last.fm, I'm not sure about playlists, I'm slowly creating one but I haven't really messed around on that site enough yet. But here is a link to my profile.

Offline(I hope I haven't posted on this topic before) I'll basically listen to any rock music and have found a new love in the bands Blink-182 and Linkin Park (Don't ask me why, I just never had enough interest to check out their songs until yesterday.)
AND I seemed to develop a taste for the Red Hot Chili Peppers because of my friend Ryan, who really knows his music
Thanks, Ryan

OfflineMy favorite non-Beatles band is now the Kinks. "Waterloo Sunset" is up there with some of the best Beatles songs in my opinion, while earlier Kinks songs are great rockers ("You Really Got Me"). Aside from that, I'm into indie/alternative bands, like Radiohead, MGMT and Green Day.

OfflineSometimes I feel like a bit of a music fraud because right now, I'm mostly just listening to The Beatles and Paul/Wings. I never really had favorite band or type of music until now. I almost never buy all the albums a band or artist puts out just because I like them. Though, I really do like one of Maroon 5's albums, as well as some of Coldplay's stuff and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I just could never be bothered to care too much before now to faithfully listen to music much. I think my obsession with The Beatles has a lot to do with the mystique of them as well as the music. They have a fascinating story with great interpersonal relationships worth analyzing. Also, they're just frickin' cool.
That said, I love Johnny Cash and have actually listened to most of his stuff. A few years ago, I could almost live off of The Phantom of the Opera, and my sister and I have an irrational love of Eminem. Don't laugh, and don't criticize. I can't help it. I won't lie and say I hate everything on the radio today, either. I like some rap (modern and older), some country, 90s music, Alanis Morrisette, and Rod Stewart. I also almost wore out my B.o.B. cd this summer. It has some quite catchy tunes. Give some of it a listen if you haven't. There are much better songs on the cd than just "Airplanes." Also, the first cd I ever owned was a compilation of The Drifters and The Coasters…be still my heart. I just love them!
Mostly, I just pick up things here and there (and everywhere…I couldn't resist).

OfflineI love this mix. I really just like what's good, not what is by my fab artists, but what is good. Good is what matters, not when or where it can be found.

There are four distinct categories of music I like:
- The first is Classic rock from the 60's and 70's like The Beatles, Bowie, The Clash, The Stones, Dylan, The Velvet Underground and the Beach Boys.
- The second is Post-Punk and New Wave music from the late 70's and 80's like Joy Division, New Order, Talking Heads, Television, The Smiths, Public Image Ltd, and XTC.
- The third is Alternative and Indie rock from the 90's and 21st Century like Radiohead, Cornershop, Manic Street Preachers, Blur, The Verve, Spiritualized, Gorillaz, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana, The White Stripes and the Flaming Lips.
- The fourth is Soul and Rhythm and Blues from the 60's and 70's like Bobby Womack, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Al Green and the Delfonics.
In general, I agree with you, Dr.

A little bit of happiness right here
Oh. My. Gosh. o.o Thank you so much CranberrySauce!
I….I don't even know what to say. Cannot….form…words.
As for me, I'm pretty much classic rock: The Stones, Zepplin, The Who, pretty typical.
I also like The Monkees, and some '70's era punk, like The Ramones.
Jimi Hendrix and Simon and Garfunkel.
Basically, what most people have said.
