I skipped a couple of letters, but it still works…Adele
Beach Boys
Coldplay
Drake Bell
Ed Sheeran
Florence + the Machine
…
No Doubt/Nirvana
Paramore
…
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Sara Bareilles
Taylor Swift (Though I wasn't pleased with her new single. Who thought we'd see the day when Taylor went pop…)
…Aaaannnnd…I'm pretty much stuck for the rest.
Is that sarcasm, FlyOn? Because T. Swift has been pop for quite a while now…Heck, "country" music these days is nothing but that! Anything that can be played on both the country station and the pop station has to at least be considered "pop with country roots" or the other way 'round, ya know?

I was being semi-sarcastic. She's been pop for quite a while, I'll agree with that, but I don't think she's ever quite sunk as low into pop as she has with this song. This isn't "pop with country roots" anymore, it's straight up, Britney Spears-sounding pop.

Really?! Just when I thought she couldn't get any worse…
Sorry I'm being all negative towards an artist you seem to enjoy, FlyOn, but I really can't stand her. Her early stuff wasn't too bad, but I've never been much of a "country" (referring back to my earlier comment) music fan. I also don't understand why she's considered to be "America's Sweetheart": she seems as plastic as a Barbie doll to me. And what is this new song you're referring to? Is it the one she sings with B.o.B.?

Plants and Animals are hard to describe, and frankly, a video tells a million words: Lightshow. Now, I still consider the Can Con regulations good, because it means that good radio stations are legally forced to play good music (Of which there is considerable Canadian selection). I still think they`re worth it.
Sorry, this is a bit old but I've been on the road for a couple days headed to where the snow is…. I'm going skiing for the next week!
I checked out Lightshow, thanks for the suggestion! I listened to a few more songs, they remind me of Sam Roberts a bit (who I also really like). What about Serena Ryder?
And welcome, Satan. Another Canadian! Yes!

OfflineSerena Ryder – I only know her 2008 album Is it O.K., which has one of the best songs of that decade, Little Bit of Red. It's a really great album.
Plants and Animals – I actually only have a slim knowledge of them, but it's a situation I've been meaning to rectify for a while now.
Sam Roberts – a fellow fan of Sam? I always forget him when I go through my artists, but he's in my top five Canadian acts (which is an almost impossible task to determine, for the record). Even his worst album (Chemical City) is still good.

A lot of 80s artists – Japan, Tears for Fears, Oingo Boingo, Paul Young, Boomtown Rats. I also listen to a lot of R&B and alternative rock, so Stevie Wonder, India Arie and Alice in Chains are also at the top of the list.
Oh, and The Carpenters, can't forget them. I'm all over the place. ![]()

OfflinePink Floyd, without a doubt one of the most creative and mind-blowing bands there ever was.
And bikelock
: one of my earliest memories is of me and my dad stopping at hmv after going to Macdonald´s and buying some Busted cd. I think the one that had ''I'm glad I crashed the wedding'' on it.

OfflineI mostly just listen to random stuff if I'm not listening to the Beatles, but the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is amazing, as well as the Marine Corps Band. I heard them on Letterman during band class, and they are incredible!
