Ohh boy. It's the biggest TV show after Football World cup in Europe, duh, with over 100 people million watching it. It's a singing competition, though I think dubbing it show competition would be more appropriate. It was national shame for Finland ( well, not for me but anyway) not winning it until 2006 although Finland had been competing for 50 years or so(Lordi won that year).
I don't know which US channels will show the "show", but I'm certain they will. You can have fun and watch how crappy songs Europeans have.
I love Eurovision! The music is really cheesy (with key changes galore), but it's a good spectacle and awesome to watch.
I'm so glad that they broadcast it in Australia. According to Wikipedia, it's not shown in the US. Australia and New Zealand are the only non-Euro countries who get to see it.
It makes for good fun amongst my friends and I, and you get bragging rights if your country wins.
I'm going to be supporting Greece, cos I'm half-Greek, but I don't think they're going to win it. I have no idea who will.

Is that true?? So strange. But, you can watch it on eurovisiontv. com! If you have a computer (and it seems the ones who write here have ).
I like Greece song, that singer has awesome voice. But I'm not so fond of that rapper though… Ireland is my favorite and I think it will also be the winner

OfflineSome accounts I have read has it as Asian, others European. I wanted clarification on whether they are considered European or Asian. Now I know. Thanks to Paulsbass and Paulrus.

OfflineAs a German I was of course proud of Lena winning last year – after almost 30 years! (when Nicole was the winner, we should go more with female first names, obviously)
Her new song was too dark to do it again, though. I'm surprised she made the Top 10.
I'm still proud of the spectacular show. Impressive lightning – and the HUGE screen in the background.
Stefan Raab was excellent again (he's our Mr. Grand Prix who made it popular again in Germany by first sending Guildo Horn, then taking part himself, then sending Max Mutzke, then sending Lena) as was Anke Engelke (talking dead serious while hanging over Stefan's shoulder!).
Well done Düsseldorf!
I didn't care that much about the winning title, but it wasn't bad. I liked that the guy from Italy made second place. Good to see a REAL musician there for a change!
Good that the plastic Europop-songs didn't get points.
All in all the contest was ok, I've seen much worse.

OfflineThat good gay looking guy, he placed 3rd, "I will be popular, I will be popular, I'm gonna get you, popular"
Oh yeah, I remember that one. Stupid Eurobeat indeed, but at least kind of catchy melody and lyrics.
I never realized that the Eurovision is kind of a gay thing. Of course you don't have to be gay to like it, but obviously the gay community likes to use it as some kind of stage…
