You're not wrong there. Could you two please STFU? It's really fucking tiresome.
Look, it's quite simple. This is a thread about Elton John. If you don't have anything to offer, please don't bother. As I said elsewhere, if you just want to bicker go on to MSN or somewhere else and do it there, rather than ruining every thread. I spend a lot of time trying to make this site good, including the forum, and people are just going to stop using it if it's full of crap. Please don't fuck it up. Thanks.
(Sorry for the Mr Angry thing – it's late here, Ellie's away and I'm trying to finish an article. Clearly I should leave it and go to bed.)
*stands up and claps* Finally someone said something readable in this topic.
Elton John. This is my favorite song. I loved the version from that awesome vampire teens movie The Lost Boys.

OfflineI don't know why I read through these posts, they're so stupid. Look, paulsbass, I understand that it's tough to ignore some of the crap that MrBig posts on here, and his attempts at "sarcasm" are quite feeble, but you have to try because it truly does ruin these threads. I have no interest in getting in an internet argument with anyone, so back to Elton John, my favorite song is Levon because he shall be Levon, and he shall be a good man.

Gniknus…. is your avatar changed?? Because I see that YS moves faster
No, it's just in top form, that's all. But it does look a little bit faster when you look at both of our avatars at the same time because of the calmness of the background in yours.

Thank you, GniknuS, I was starting to think I was the only one here thinking that way… I will try to ignore it as well (though I still find it amazing how many people support or don't get his crap…).
As for Elton John:
Wanted to see him live with Billy Joel, but Billy was ill, so Elton pulled off a three-and-a-half-hour-solo-show, including some of Billy's hits.
Last week I played "Your song" on the guitar at a wedding., that was nice. I got a bit emotional, though, so my voice kept breaking… People still loved it.
Hard to name a favourite song. Out of the classics it might be "Rocket man" or "Bennie and the Jets". My favourite album happens to be "The big picture" (closely followed by "Made in England"), quite surprisingly, since there are no real classics on it and the cover artwork is just UGLY, but it's just a nice album with many good melodies.
I wish I had a songwriter like Taupin as a partner since I'm good a composing music but have to work hard for the lyrics…

OfflineAll of the songs listed so far are great. My favorite EJ song is…
When I was a kid I bought Elton John's single Philadelphia Freedom. It had a live performance of I Saw her Standing There as the B-side featuring John as a guest artist.
I remember liking Elton John a lot more after that!
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, Let it roll for all its worth.

AFAIK the only Elton John record I've ever bought is this:
It was released on DJM, which was Dick James' label (he was The Beatles' publisher). I think it was released in 1981 in the UK, but I bought it some years later at a record fair.
This whole post has made me feel very old – I can't remember the last time I bought a 7" single.

Yes, great track! Really shows Sir Elton's versatility.

Wow, not even John Lennon can stand out when Elton's wearing that outfit!

Elton's done some great Lennon covers to also include Come Together and One Day At A Time. He's also got a version of Get Back out there.
