So, since I have been on a “Ghost Adventures” (show) kick, I was wondering if any of you believed in anything paranormal or had a paranormal experience.  Things like:

  • Ghosts/spirits/shadow people
  • Physics
  • Tarot cards
  • etc.

I have always had a fascination with ghosts and spirits, but have yet to have a paranormal experience.

I will admit the paranormal makes for good movies, that’s about it. I don’t, honestly. It’s nice to think we aren’t alone, but not really. But fortune tellers are the worst offenders.

I definitely believe in physics a-hard-days-night-george-10

The i-Ching has something about it, as long as you don't take it too seriously.

I told her I didn’t

I remember clearly about a week after my mom died (I was 5 years old), a music box of hers that she really liked randomly started playing.  Never happened again, and nothing like that has ever happened again in the house.  It was probably just a little wound up and a shake in the house made it go off or something, who knows?

My dad claims he saw a ghost and an old house my family (before me) used to live in.  He had just finished remodeling the attic into a room for my sister, and then later on in the night he says he saw a figure of a young girl who looked very upset, and then she dissapeared.  He says he could have been dreaming (he was very tired), or it could of been real.  To add to the story though, no one has lived in the house for more than 2 years since my family moved out about 20 years ago.

I personally am on the fence.

Certainly spirits (and physics a-hard-days-night-george-10) exist, they are just outside of our level of perception. Whether they are haunted ghosts or not I don't really know, but give meditation a shot, eventually you'll be tuned out (or in) enough where you'll see something.

We live in a strange world.

I don't believe in the paranormal, but I read this earlier today in a forthcoming George Harrison biography (Working Class Mystic: A Spiritual Biography Of George Harrison by Gary Tillery).

“Harrison's beliefs about the persistence of life after death received a confirmation in May 1978. His father Harry, weakened for years from various ailments, succumbed to emphysema. On the night of his death, George and Olivia awoke because of a blue light in the room. For a moment, they both saw the specter of Harry smiling at them.”

So, is the book any good, Joe? Hate to think it's a money grab.

I am currently reading The Cynical Idealist: A Spiritual Biography of John Lennon by Gary Tillery.  I am only two chapters in, but thus far have found it enjoyable.

I am about to make a topic about it.

It seems like a good book, yes. I’ll post a full review when I’ve finished writing it.
