Sad news... A true entertainer.

As to the Beatles... I listen to a podcast called "fab 4 free 4 all" (on iTunes... It's pretty cool)... Anyway, I remember hearing them mention that Davey was a guest on the Ed Sullivan show the night of the Beatles first appearance. True?

Flipping heck. I remember watching that episode of Sabrina on smtv when i was young. Had forgotten all about it. Wasnt that bad a programme before they modernised it ie made it rubbish. Kind of like with the A-Team series 5 or adding Scrappy to Scooby Doo.

As a kid, I loved the TV show they had. I'll never forget the classic "Brady Bunch" episode he appeared on as well. He will definitely be missed.

Of course he did! There's a photo (which I found but couldn't link) of him sharing a laugh & a joint (which he elected to hold as if it were a regular cigarette) with Mickey Dolenz.

The Monkees made LOTS of great music between 1966 and '68! Never mind that they needed a lot of outside help, and that the albums are a bit spotty, and that Davy Jones himself sang many of their weaker numbers - he'll still be missed. I am sadden to hear the news about Davey Jones. When I was young back in the 60's, I was a member of the Monkees Fan Club and they were one of my favorite bands. I remember all the girls I knew had Davey Jones posters on their ceilings. Davey, WE MISS YOU!

Davy Jones of the Monkees has died of an apparent heart attack aged 66. The singer had been on a solo tour this month and had complained of chest pains the previous evening and was admitted to a hospital in Stuart Florida.
