Maybe not a confession so much as a tale of childhood innocence, but when I was in Kindergarten (5 yrs old, 1985), I was talking to a friend at school about how much I loved the Beatles, and he told me his older sister told him John Lennon had been shot and killed. I ran in the door after school that day and said "MOM! I heard John was shot today!" She had to explain to me that it had happened 5 years before when I was a baby.

"I know you, you know me; one thing I can tell you is you got to be free!"

I'm in the middle. I try to be tactful in telling it straight.

That said, we really need more of MMM's rants about Apple merchandise because I'm looking for one to vote for for funniest post.

parlance

I'm already thinking about this, too. I'm going to write them down as the year goes by rather than picking one from the few weeks before the votes have to go in.

Due to all your very kind posts and the expressed demand it is only fitting to take the lead from Apple and do nothing for the next 13 years.apple01

When I am doing my yoga and I am doing a position where my arms are like this..

..  I get distracted because Paul (tattooed on my arm) is right by my face….  I can't help but look, I know he's there.  I blame not only my love for Paul but also my ADHD.

That is all.  ahdn_paul_01

I confess that I want the American men's hockey team to beat the Canadian men's hockey team 10232-0. I don't care about Crosby and Kunitz's feelings. They can just get blown out at the Olympics, then come back and blow someone else out when they're back on the Pens.

Why is it that that does not surprise me in the slightest? :)

I'll definitely have to check this thread later today!

Just remember that its the taking part that counts and not the thrashing of your nearest rival, denying them their Olympic dream and gloating mercilessly in your victory as they recoil in shame and hide for a few weeks.

No please, don't hold off on bragging. It wouldn't feel right. I know if the US had won, I wouldn't have shut up about it. I'm still venting Canada hatred too.

I like Cleverbot. Here's a conversation:

<snip>

(cleverbot says it's name is Caitlin something)

Caitlin, while (in various spellings), has become a popular name in the states, at least in the 80s and 90s it was.  But I know a guy, he is sorta like wiccan but says it is different from wiccan, Caitlin as his chosen (having religious meaning) name, so it probably means something like "sky eagle".

Cleverbot: George
Harrison.
User: SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe you got George Harrison after all that.  You must have been elated!

I just found this thread, I know this is an older post I'm responding to, but I doubt anyone went off topic enough to say this lol:  cleverbot, and it's more sophisticated relative, Watson (an IBM "intelligent machine" that made a singular debut on the American tv game show "Jeopardy") – the game has been around since the 1950s, surely the UK has seen a version – if not and you care, pm me.  Not to brag, but merely to indicate my credentials for saying this, I hold a graduate degree in artificial intelligence.  Neither has any artificial intelligence of any modern sort.  The computer played so-so, coming in 2nd out of 3 I believe.  Even Watson was little more than a table lookup program (a fuzzy search engine similar to google, except it uses more sophisticated answer ranking and of course just chooses the top one).  He wowed the lay public but anyone with a comp sci degree could see through it so easily, I'm actually surprised they debuted it without adding more than rudimentary artificial intelligence.

That said, like others, I LMAO when I read it.  In fact it was the funniest thing I've seen in a while :)

Half of what I say is meaningless...
