It feels like that in my house right now! My break is from December 21st to January 17th. I am actually not excited for it though. I work at my school, so without the school open, I have no job. So I just get to sit in my cold house with no money.

Well, the highest temperature ever in Australia was 53 C (127 F) in Queensland in 1889.

The coldest it's EVER been here in Melbourne is -2.8 C (That's 26.96 F), and that was in 1901. One day last year it got to 46 C (about 115 F), and I'm sure it's gotten higher than that before.

It does get cold (and snows heaps on a lot of mountains) in some places, just not as much here in Melbourne (where me and Paulrus live). Gets really hot in the middle of Summer though

Oh, I know about how the seasons are different in the Southern Hemisphere. I just wondered if they have summer break when it's actually summer, or if they have a break in the middle of the year for the sake of matching us in the Northern Hemisphere.

Our school year starts at the beginning of February, and it ends somewhere in the middle of December. We normally get 6 weeks of holidays at the end of the year, and 3 two week breaks.

The school year starts in Feb, and we have four terms in a school year, with a two week break in between them. Our Christmas holidays are the longest, because they are the end of the year.
