(Never played an authentic Gibson or Fender instrument myself, aside from fooling around on an unplugged SG for an hour or so, years ago.)

The LP wins for me every time. Such a beautiful instrument. Strats always seem a bit lightweight to me. I haven't played any other guitars by either company.

But those insanely fast jazz guys play Les Paul's because they are cleaner, but less fun I think. Gibson surely makes superior acoustic guitars, John in particular was a fan. I owned a Fender acoustic when I first started playing and hated it. So electric Fender, acoustic Gibson.

It's funny, but the dog, Brian (I think) is kind of creepy, falling in love with Lois. And, yeah I just don't like it. I have a lot of time without watching it.

B.B. King is without a doubt, The Godfather of The Blues. Plenty of people agree that he's the first name that comes to mind when they think of the blues. He has a gift with the guitar and makes it come to life, and it's totally heard in his music. He was, and still is, a major inspiration to rock musicians everywhere.

 

But SRV plays a major role in introducing me to rock music in many ways.
