My younger sister bought the first soundtrack, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. I have the first three, and all of them are filled with great indie/alternative bands that I probably would never have heard of.

I strongly recommend you sample some of the music on amazon. Some of the best artists on the albums are Ok Go, Fanfarlo, The Black Keys, Vampire Weekend, Florence and the Machine, Sia, Linkin Park, Muse, Mutemath, The Dead Weather (Jack White's other other band...check out ...

I dont know if this is extended to other countries but its worth having a look as there are some good songs at times.

And for anyone in the UK amazon always have a handful of free music downloads as well as a full album sampler, usually of a more obsure record label. Again i have no idea if this is available in other countries.

I am not in favor of illegal-downloading, so if i see an unknown-band's music video on youtube that i like i will check the band's music out on itunes so i can buy their music legally.

However, there's the possibility that if TNK likes the illegaly-downloaded material he'll buy it. I think that he just wants to check some bands out (on Youtube, for example)

There isn't really logic, because acquiring without buying doesn't harm anyone if you weren't going to buy anyway, but I think if you're going to enjoy the fruits of the labours of a band who are probably holding down jobs as well as recording, then you should at least pay the price they name for listening to it. If you're pirating the Beatles, then, well, they don't really need your money, nor do Radiohead ...
