I just don't think you should be so concerned about what other people on a message board think about you posting. If they don't like it, they can skip over it. a-hard-days-night-paul-11(aimed at people who have nothing better to do than worry about other people's posting…practices)

If you were posting "too much" (however much that may be), the worst/best thing we could do would be just to ignore you completely, which means we certainly wouldn't be posting on this thread!  So, question answered.

As for me personally, I may be saying to myself "oh noes everybody's hitting the 1000 club I'LL NEVER CATCH UP" but that's just my own particular irrational neurosis.

(And anyways, it's my own fault, since I spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to get my postings just right. "Hyphen or colon? Italics or all caps for this word? White Album or The Beatles ? Etc.)

I'm also guilty of that. Making typos annoys me. If I'm unsure of a spelling, I'll look it up. And grammatically as well as stylistically speaking, I also obsess over punctuation and whether to use all caps, bold it or italicize. I don't know why, since I obviously don't have my own style book, but it's just one of those things.

Mr. Sun King, speaking of this, is there any particular reason you capitalize some words and not others? I mean, do you realize you're doing it and think it looks cool, or is it something more random?

(I realize since I'm asking this in the "Am I posting Too Much?" thread, I should let you know that it's not annoying me, but I find it an interesting quirk.)

(I'm hung up on ellipses, parentheses and dashes, myself.)
