And it is a guy's name.
I sort of know how you feel with the whole guy's name thing. My name is Joanna, but everyone calls me Jo (except my brothers and sister), and that's how I introduce myself, so people think I mean Joe, which is a guy's name. It sounds kinda confusing, but it annoys me heaps.

Ok, I won't call you Joe if you won't call me Jordan. Deal?

My name is supposed to mean The Gray Sea in Sindarin, a language from The Lord of the rings. But something got lost in translation because Mith = Gray. Aear = Sea. Mithaear instead of Mithveaen.
Anyway. I'm way too used to it. That's the nick I use in all the forums I participate. I think I have the award to stupidiest nickname and the most difficult to say
Hi, mithveaen…
For some trick of my mind, I always see your nick as "m i t HEAVEN"… so, if I sometimes I call you like that, don't get
at me!

Isn't it?
Yeah, and it explains some things I inherited from my mother: reading-mania, Beatles, contestation and being a fan (an ardent admirer or enthusiast).

OfflineIt's easy…my real name is Astrid. I always hated that name until I read that the Beatles know someone from my country whose name is Astrid. That was….when I was 13 I think, and from than on I was proud to have that name. More…it gives me shiver when one of them says that name and I wish to meet Paul one day, talk about this and that and when he asks what my name is….I wanna see his face. LOL

I must admit that the first time I saw your name I thought you were Astrid Kirchherr. There's another Astrid I know from somewhere…Lindgren I think. I think she's a children's author, but that doesn't really have anything to do with anything. But it is a very unique and cool name.

OfflineIf you're a hardcore Beatles fan, you should already know this
, but it's a portmanteau of Paul and Walrus!
For some reason that name was already taken on YouTube, so I had to use a capital I instead of an L… WHO WOULD COME UP WITH A NAME AS STUPID AS PAULRUS? Wait…

I always see it that way, too. Would it be said like "Mith-vay-en?" Do you see why when I address you on the forum, I just call you Mith?
As for mine, there's a lot of reasons behind it, besides I like how it sounds. I guess mainly, there's only really been two instances I can think of where I've felt so wonderfully small in the grand scheme of things: looking out over the ocean from its shore, but especially looking up on a clear night sky the very few times I've removed myself from city life.
Also, no matter how old you get, it's good to keep some part of you innocent, and I associate wishing on stars with that.
Uh, maybe I put *too* much thought into this question? Cliffs Notes version: I like how it sounds and the images which I associate with it.
