Outside of the beatles and solo i go thru itunes and dump whatever seems right, Stones, Kylie Minogue, Sheryl Crow (more tracks from her first 3 albums), Bob Dylan, Kendall Payne and random songs by random artists. Simon and Garfunkel, Queen, Buddy Holly are always in there, anything of theirs. Outside of that there is nothing set in stone,

Golden Silvers- True Romance

R.E.M. - Green

The albums by PJ Harvey, R.E.M., Fleet Foxes and Wilco are really American sounding or are about North America, so I imagine would be really good ...

Two bands I love atm are Bombay Bicycle Club and Los Campesinos!.

Idk how big they are over your way, so you might already listen to them; sorry if you do. I think they may have even been discussed on the forum before... I can't remember, but they're both quite chilled and both the lead singers have quite interesting voices. They're the bands I choose if going on long car journeys or train rides, especially at night. Hope it helps-ish!

Where abouts are you off to btw?

I listen to a lot of Nirvana, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, etc. on car trips. Avoid Radiohead if you don't want to fall asleep . Other than the Beatles, my obsession is '80s pop, so I also listen to '80s dance mixes in the car. Hope this helped....
