I remember my sisters and I once speculated about the photo. We thought it was a photo montage (is that the word?) of the Beatles with photos when they were young. A very well done montage of course...

I've seen it before and have wondered why it's so badly cropped in the middle. Since it's a fold out, it makes sense now. I'll let you know if I find anything on it.

IIRC the people were members of the public who had waited behind railings while the shots were taken, and by way of thanks the group agreed to appear in a pic with them. I'll try and dig out more info for you.
