Even though Pepper is not overrated (in my opinion), I can see why people think so. You have to hear it several times before you appreciate it. It took me a while until I realized how good it really was. Before I didn't really get it. In other news, With the Beatles is underrated.I agree with you about Pepper and With the Beatles. You have to have a good understanding of the time period it was released in in order to see what people describe as the best album of the decade. As for With the Beatles, it is my second favorite album behind Rubber Soul. It showed that the Beatles were here to stay, and it was their first album with a striking picture on the front.

That is a good point. I recall George saying in Anthology that they knew they were making a really good album. Personally, I love this album.

OfflineIt seems like most people here consider Pepper's overrated, if so many people consider it overrated, then it really isn't. Since so many people think it's overrated, I would say their underrated album is Sgt. Pepper's.
For overrated, I'll go with The White Album.

OfflineUnderatted: With The Beatles. Everyone seems to dislike that album. That and Yellow Submarine. I really like With The Beatles for it's song, and great covers.
Overrated: Abbey Road everyone seems to like this and it's cover is like the picture of the centuary. I'm a fan of early Beatles, but Abbey Road is good too. Mainly fond of the Medley. I feel like it was positioned great together.

OfflineI think Magical Mystery Tour is quite underrated (I'm talking about the now "official" version EP+singles, which is a great collection of songs).
About Sgt. Pepper: I understand why people say it's overrated. Everyone knows that it's considered one of the most important albums of all times, so when you listen to it for the 1st time without being very impressed you think there's something wrong with you (this happened to me some years ago). Now I understand the difference between "important" and "good". Not that it isn't good, but I prefer Revolver and Abbey Road. Although I admit I can't find a single track that I want to skip.
