I think this is where this should go..
Anyways, I just wanted to know what albums of The Beatles you all own, and if any, solo albums
currently, I only have Help!, Please Please Me, The White Album and Past Masters, Band On The Run, Living In The Material World and The John Lennon Signature Box I'm going to Best Buy today to get more, any suggestions?

I have pretty much all of them apart from The LOVE album 
:( my favoruite is either Magical mystery tour, the white album, Sgrt Pepper or Rubber Soul

You need to get Revolver and Abbey Road. And if you can, the rest of their studio albums.

I second Revolver, and also Rubber Soul.
You are probably going to end up with a series of responses that boil down to: "Just get all of them!" but those are my fave two, and I'm really partial to their "middle period" as it were, though Mith is right in saying you need to get Abbey Road, as well.

2. Rubber Soul

4. All Things Must Pass

I take it the Lennon signature box means "all John's albums"? If not, slip Mind Games and Imagine in above All Things Must Pass.
Revolver is easily their best album (including the solo albums they wrote), and probably THE best album tbh.
It would also be worth purchasing 1 if there are different songs on there to Past Masters.
I own the proper albums (i.e. no Magical Mystery Tour or Yellow Submarine) from Help!-Abbey Road in order that they were released. I also own All Things Must Pass, 1 and Anthology 3, and can access all Lennon's work through Spotify.

Are you serious, buy All Things Must Pass before Sgt. Pepper?
I agree though, Rubber Soul and Revolver are the best places to start because you can work backwards and forwards, depending on what you end up liking more.

Yes. Sgt Pepper is full of forgettable filler. There are a few decent tracks, but the album as a whole is saved by a Day In The Life. I think Martin's comments (i.e. they should have included Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane) say it all. Nobody says "they should have included Day Tripper and We Can Work It Out on Rubber Soul", or "they should have included Paperback Writer and Rain on Revolver". It isn't of the standard of
All Things Must Pass has several fantastic songs (My Sweet Lord, What Is Life, Wah-Wah, the title track), and the filler is generally better than Pepper's.
I would have thought Anthology 3 above Pepper was a more controversial selection!

All Things Must Pass is an incredible album, but I definitely wouldn't say the filler is better than Pepper's, especially those forgettable and flat out not very good instrumentals. I don't understand, why is it fashionable to dismiss Pepper these days? What songs are filler outside of Fixing a Hole? Some of those songs aren't my all time favorites, but there are still some pretty great and inventive songs on that album.

DUDE, you guys?! I am defending Sgt. Pepper and I say you need that one, Big Mustard. Also, I suggest you buy albums somewhere other than Best Buy as they’re incredibly overpriced. Haha. Have any good secondhand stores near you? I saw a a bunch of their albums (meaning CDs) at mine the other day for under $10/each. Or use Amazon, that’s what I did for about half of mine. I have them all.
Personally, I have this rule that whenever I listen to any album for the first time, I go all the way through in order, preferably in one sitting. I believe the artist put them in that order because that’s how they’re supposed to be heard. But whether or not that’s your thing, you really should do it when listening to Pepper and Abbey Road the first time.

I don't know. Before we got Revolver, Pepper was my favorite Beatles album.

I think Fixing A Hole is one of the better tracks on there tbh, along with Getting Better and Good Morning Good Morning it is the best of the filler songs.
The first two and penultimate tracks don't count as filler for me as they are introducing and closing songs designed for that purpose.
She's Leaving Home, Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite!, Within You Without You, When I'm Sixty Four and Lovely Rita are all fairly poor filler IMO, and the three tracks I mention above are good, but still essentially filler. That leaves Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and A Day In The Life. Furthermore, the album has next to no cohesion, you can't say it is greater than the sum of it's parts like Revolver or Abbey Road.
I'm not dismissing it, it just isn't nearly as good as some of the other music they've put out, or John's solo stuff bar Rock and Roll and Walls and Bridges, or All Things Must Pass. As I've said in a few other threads, combine it with Magical Mystery Tour and that year's singles and you've got an amazing album, but on its own it is a massive let down after Revolver and seems like they put out an album out of obligation (like On Her Satanic Majesty's Request) rather than because they have 12-14 great unreleased songs.

We'll have to agree to disagree, I think She's Leaving Home is one of the best tracks they ever did. I understand what you're saying though, it's an ipod thing and if I'm flipping through my ipod I won't stop at many of those songs, but still I feel as a complete album there are only a handful of albums that provide a more magical listening experience than Pepper.

Make sure you listen to the mono version of 'She's Leaving Home' It is so much better. The main reason is that it is faster and doesn't lag.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, and I ended up getting Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's and Abbey Road
I'll eventually get them all but as of right now, unfourtunately that's all I had the money for.
