What's your favorite out of all the Beatles' solo albums? Mine is Paul's Back To The Egg.
Yeah, Back to the egg is a cool and very underrated album, as is "Press to play". Very un-paulish.
I always find it sad when people seem to think that Paul's career was over after Ram and Band on the run.
He made his best albums more recently: "Chaos and creation in the backyard" is fantastic, as is "FLaming pie" and "Memory almost full" and "FLowers in the dirt". "Driving rain" is very decent with many lovely gems like "Your way" or "I do".
"Tug of war" is his early 80s masterpiece. Great guest appearances.
Never made a bad album apart from "Give my regards" or "Wings at the speed of sound" or "Red Rose Speedway" or "Wings wildlife" or both "McCartney" albums. And even those albums all have killer singles and at least some lovable songs.
He has without doubt the most consistent career, commercially and artistically.
George burnt like a supernova on (the slightly overrated) "All things must pass" – and kind of died afterwards. Luckily he had a great comeback with "Cloud nine" and the legendary Wilburys.
Never heard a whole original album by Lennon or Starr. I have several Lennon collections and find many of his songs interesting and touching. But he very rarely had the punch he used to have when he worked with Macca.

That was my first Paul album! It's pretty decent, but lately I've been listening to Memory Almost Full , and I like it a lot. I don't see how some people don't like it. I like John's Plastic Ono Band and Imagine , but I prefer just The John Lennon Collection along with POB on my iTunes, because I tend to skip some songs on Imagine . I just bought Y Not and it's cute, but it's not my favorite Ringo album (cough). I've been listening to Concert for Bangladesh lately too. It probably doesn't count as a George album, but I very much enjoy it. 
My favorite of the four would probably be Band on the Run. If not, it's Tug of War.

Sort of hard to say if you've never heard a whole album, but actually Lennon had the best solo career critically with two albums placing in the top 100 of Rolling Stones 500 greatest albums of all time compared to Macca's one in the top 500.

I'd say Band on The Run is my fav solo album
Beside this, I like Imagine, Plastic Ono Band and Flaming Pie.. All things must pass is also nice, like the Harrison sound.
Havent listened much to Ringo though!

My favorite song on ATMP is Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp. It's so hauntingly beautiful. Fav song on POB is a tie between Love, God, and Working Class Hero.
I haven't heard enough of Ringo's or Paul's solo albums to say that I have a favorite.

However, I haven't listened to any of the other three in any detail, because Paul has withdrawn from Spotify and George was never on it I hope to receive All Things Must Pass for Christmas, so then I'll have a substantial amount of George (plus Wilburys Volume 1). I won't waste money on Ringo, and Paul's post-Beatles stuff is generally considered rubbish. I like a handful of his songs (the obvious ones- Live and Let Die, Too Many People, Mull of Kintyre, Maybe I'm Amazed, the two with MJ, a few lines of Band on the Run), but I don't like fairly popular songs amongst the Paul fanatics like Calico Skies, so I think buying McCartney, Ram or Band on the Run would probably be money down the drain.

At the moment I would say Walls and Bridges is my favourite, a nice blend of really upbeat and downbeat songs. All Things Must Past isn't far behind; and of course the rest of John's albums. I only know a little bit of Paul's post-beatles material and Ringo I haven't listened to.

I did listen to Good Evening New York City on Spotify. I thought it was actually quite rough-sounding in places; far less polished than I'd expect, even for a live album. It made me think twice about getting tickets for McCartney in Europe (though I probably will anyway). Some of the performances really were disappointing, at best average, which made me wonder why those particular recordings were chosen.
On the subject of McCartney live, I wish he'd vary his setlist a bit. He's got so many classic songs but he seems to perform largely the same ones at every concert.
I don't Know If This has been mentioned, But Cloud 9 and Living In The Material World (To an Extent; it's extremely religious) have Plenty to recommend, Joe.

My favorite solo album of John's is Plastic Ono Band, A jus love that album an thats one of the too albums of his A can lisen to strait through (the othr one is Imagine)
My favorite solo album of Paul's would probably be Ram, A cant relly esplain why, but A just reelly like this album. Band On The Run is great to, although I'm not so keen on Picassos Last Words and Mamunia is good, but it goes to long, in ma opinyin. Another one A really like is Chaos and Creation In The Backyard, all tha songs are fantastic on this one, it's prolly a really close second.
My favorite album of George's is Living In The Material World. A love this album, and Give Me Love(Give Me Peace on Earth) is one of my favorite George songs, and the title track is really good to, A like all tha songs off ths album. All Things Must Pass is also one of ma favorit George albums, though so I'd say ma favorite is torn between those two albums.
My favorite Ringo album is Ringo, although I have yet to lisen to all his albums, as of now I've prolly only ever listened to about sevn of them or so, so it's my favorite of all the albums of his that I've heard. Anyroad, I relly like the album Ringo, and my favorite song on it as of right now would be I'm The Greatest, and A've been lisening to this song alot lately.

I just noticed that I never answered the question at hand. The best solo album of any of them iss: All Things Must Pass. POB is close, but Pass just trumps. Although I'm most likely to listen to the Travelling Wilburys Volume 1 right now. Band On The Run and McCartney II come close, and I anxiously await Ram's rerelease, McCartney's work is still a bit of an unknown entity to me. But, I'm quickly correcting that. As for Ringo, my desire to hear more then Ringo and Goodnight Vienna is the same as jumping in the way of Zdeno Chara's slapshot. Which is none.

I've been listening to All Things Must Pass a lot lately, and it's probably become my favourite solo album.
I know it's been said before, but it's amazing how much George was pissed on in the Let It Be sessions and even earlier. John and Paul rejected great songs like All Things Must Pass, Isn't It A Pity, Let It Down, I'd Have You Any Time, and even Something. They even pulled up songs like One After 909 ahead of Not Guilty. He had those six, plus the three they were recording (Old Brown Shoe, I Me Mine, For You Blue). Really, they should have been looking to record a concert which was half George songs, but they barely bothered with some of them and didn't bother with most of them. The fact that they did bother with For You Blue , probably the worst of the lot, cries "conspiracy" to me.

That's a great point. How the hell did For You Blue get on an album and not Not Guilty or All Things Must Pass? Shocking.
