@ sevenlevels – the replacements… nice!
I have two favorite albums:
Green Day – "Dookie"
The Beatles – "Rubber Soul"
Good to see a fellow fan! "Meet me anyplace or anywhere or anytime…"
This thread has some great variety. I've got some new music to check out!

What are you talking about? U2 rules!
Favourite albums (in no specific order):
* Cancion Animal – Soda Stereo
Wow.. how could I forget Soda??
Now *that's* what I call a great, great album. Musica Ligera is one of my top ten favorite songs in Spanish. Thanks for the reminder Marcelo and the U2 support

OfflineI have 3 reasons on why U2 sucks:
1. Bono is a pompous asshole. He does a lot of things for charity, which is good, but he acts like the fu*king pope after he's done it.
2. The band is overrated. Heavily. There isn't a grocery store I've walked into that hasn't played U2 through the god damn intercom.
3. They're boring. None of their songs have ever given me any sort of influence (except for Mysterious Ways, that song is ok) on my music. I heard this on a U2 message board: "U2's song Vertigo features a very heavy lyric, and never gets repetitive." Really? Never get's repetitive? What about the "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!" part? Also, heavy lyric? What the hell is that supposed to mean? It's more than 5 pounds? The only lyric that is a little less fairy from the rest is the ooh's. It's still fairy, though.
There you have it. 3 reasons why u2 sucks.

1. I don't really care what Bono do in his spare time.
2. You rate a band by listening them in grocery stores? Weird standard…
3. You don't have to listen to them, just listen whatever else band you like. I don't care what someone said in a message board. That was an opinion, maybe that was irony too…

OfflineI guess it really isn't U2 I hate, just it's stupid fanbase. They act like they're the best band ever when really they haven't had much success by my terms. One fan even said I should be executed for not liking them. If someone doesn't like the beatles, I don't think they should be shot. They're obviously crazy but I don't want them dead.

OfflineMetamorphosis from Iron Butterfly???
I only know the song "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida." (Now there's a song worth revisiting – though maybe not the original extended version…)
What's on Metamorphosis that makes it a top-20 album?
I find when I try to rank my Favourite Albums Of All Time, it is a very difficult process and one which I must eliminate the Beatles from completely in order to be fair. That in itself, though, is unfair considering the impact and influence they have on my life and my listening. I consider Revolver to be the greatest pop album of all time, but that doesn't necessarily mean it sits at the top of my "favourites." The list of albums I personally always find myself coming back to would look something like this, in no particular order:
Ian Dury and the Blockheads- New Boots and Panties!!
Paul and Linda McCartney- Ram
The Police- Outlandos D'Amour
Joni Mitchell- Blue
Jorge Ben- A Tabua de Esmerelda
The Replacements- Let It Be
Paul Simon- Graceland
Scott Walker- Scott 4
Harry Nilsson- Nilsson Sings Newman
Sly and the Family Stone- Stand!
Emitt Rhodes- Emitt Rhodes
The Bomboras- It Came From Pier 13!
Sun Kil Moon- Ghosts of the Great Highway
Chris Bell- I Am The Cosmos

OfflineI'll attempt a top 20:
1. Funeral- Arcade Fire
2. Revolver- The Beatles
3. Blood On The Tracks- Bob Dylan
4. Rubber Soul- The Beatles
5. Low- David Bowie
6. Judy Sucks A Lemon For Breakfast- Cornershop
7. Innuendo- Queen
8. Plastic Ono Band- John Lennon
9. Abbey Road- The Beatles
10. All Things Must Pass- The Beatles
11. Journal For Plague Lovers- Manic Street Preachers
12. Blonde On Blonde- Bob Dylan
13. London Calling- The Clash
14. The Village Green Preservation Society- The Kinks
15. Hunky Dory- David Bowie
16. Highway 61 Revisited- Bob Dylan
17. Green- R.E.M.
18. Ziggy Stardust- David Bowie

Okay, even though that spilt over into a top 30, that feels massively inadequate. I could make that a top 50 and still not be content.

OfflineWhen I try to think of my favorite albums/artists/songs, I don't usually include The Beatles, John, Paul, George, or Ringo because they would make the whole list. When people ask me what my favorite band is I don't even say The Beatles anymore. They are, but it's weird because it's like they have gone past being my favorite band.
1. Sgt. Pepper's – The Beatles
2. Abbey Road – The Beatles
3. Dark Side Of The Moon – Pink Floyd
4. Bridge Over Troubled Water – Simon and Garfunkel
5. Revolver – The Beatles
6. All Things Must Pass – George Harrison
7. Band On The Run – Wings
8. Nevermind – Nirvana
9. Speak Now – Taylor Swift
10. Imagine – John Lennon
11. Tug Of War – Paul McCartney
12. Dino: Italian Love Songs – Dean Martin (This album has always been one of my favorites, and I think having my all time favorite song on it, On An Evening In Roma, makes me like it that much more.)
13. The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan – Bob Dylan
14. Pet Sounds – The Beach Boys
15. Good News For People Who Love Bad News – Modest Mouse
16. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? – Oasis
17. The Predator – Ice Cube (I usually can't listen to rap albums straight through, but this one is too good)

19. Fearless – Taylor Swift

OfflineSeems like a reasonable thread to make my first post on! …
There's just too many too list, but my top ten are probably as follows:
The Beatles: Magical Mystery Tour (Favourite album)
The Beatles: White Album
The Beatles: Sgt Peppers
Tom Waits: Small Change
Pink Floyd: Meddle
CCR: Green River
Van Morrison: It's Too Late To Stop Now
Neil Young: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
The Band: The Band
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Second Helping
Like I said, just too many to list. I'm only 30, a Gen-Xer , so there's a ton of contemporary albums that I love as well , just seems that all of the best were recorded before I was born !!!
Peace… and carrots.
