I have both box sets. There's a false start on (I think) I'm Looking Through You, and a few other differences (the longer I'll Cry Instead, the James Bond intro to Help! and the incidental music on that album). Quite a few of the songs have Dave Dexter's reverb added, but I think most are the same mixes. Occasionally George Martin prepared different mixes because Capitol needed a song early (this happened right up to Penny Lane in 1967), but normally they used the same ones as in the UK.

I think Joe mentioned this before. The only track I remember it's different from these is Help! intro, it has the James Bond theme. This is the Help! version I grew up with.

Dunno, but your thread about the Dexterized Rubber Soul has got me intrigued about those Capitol boxes. Not intrigued enough to buy them, certainly; but enough that I think I might download some representative tracks from them, if I can find 'em. Just for research purposes.

Can you think of any tracks that you suspect might be especially worth checking on?

Does anyone own the Beatles Capitol Albums Vol 1 & 2 on CD? If so, I know about the stereo mixes being different than the UK mixes do to the addition of reverb by Dexter and some abnormalities with a few songs but are the American mono mixes also different from the UK mono mixes? Did Capitol Records actually do their own mono mixes for all the albums. It looks like Vol. 3 is not coming out. The only other two albums that the mixes would be different on are Yesterday and Today and Magical Mystery Tour with the Duo-Phonic re-channeled stereo ...
