1967 as a single disk? | Fab forum

In the summer, I was thinking about what Sgt. Pepper would have been like with Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever. I couldn't decide which tracks to get rid of. Then I made it easier for myself- I got rid of most of the songs, and added All You Need Is Love, I Am The Walrus and Rain, because I thought they sounded right.

I think you'll agree that that is an amazing album. However, I have decided to get rid of Rain, and replace it with a song released in 1967, because I'm putting Rain on Revolver (no prizes for guessing which song is going…)

Here are the candidates:

Hello Goodbye- the obvious choice, the only remaining single

Within You, Without You- it would give George a track (I'm not going for Blue Jay Way)

Good Morning Good Morning- a fairly good track, it morphs into Reprise. I'm probably leaning towards it. I'd move a track to side 1 to accomodate it.

BFTBOMK- my favourite track that I removed from Sgt. Pepper. I'm not sure it fits, though.

Your Mother Should Know/Baby You're a Rich Man- I quite like these MMT tracks. However, I would have to buy them.

So, I have two questions:

a) What would go on your "1967" album?

b) What track should go on mine in place of "Rain"?

There's a lot of Paul on the album. I took out 3 Paul songs, 2 John, and 1 George.
