Great song though, love it. I Also like how that little bit in the middle of Carry that weight refers back to this song.

Thanks for the recommendation meanmistermustard. Never heard of Moggical Mystery Tour before. Spent most of today downloading and listening. The multis provided for earlier songs are great fun on Audacity. He does a much better job than the raw mogg tracks.

I know this maybe should be added to another thread but it might get lost in the depths of the forum and some folk might not see it. Helter Skelter has put on on his 'Moggical Mystery Tour' a new project that includes a whole load of things including a few new outtakes, new mixes and other bits and pieces from the Abbey Road album. Have only heard a few excerpts but considering the excellent history he has on Pepper, Rubber Soul and other individual tracks would highly recommend giving it a spin. And before you think it ...

Great thoughts... and the fact that the Golden Slumbers brings back older melodies is a very relevant point, as is the fact that silence can be considered a musical effect. Add to that the fact that The Beatles themselves obviously consider all the songs to be part of the medley. So I accept it as a medley. Though, I still think that technically the definition of a medley may be violated by having the silence, as I think of medley as something consisting of a string of continuous pieces put together. So, maybe I would have preferred a cross fade ...
