Yeah, those were the days when smoking wasn't akin to leprosy.

I can recall sitting in a hospital bed the night before surgery smoking a cigarette – and that was in 1982! I no longer smoke, but find it comical that one could be shot by a small army of soldiers in a machine gun nest for even coming close to a hospital parking lot while thinking of smoking a cigarette.

Deleting a smoke from the Abbey Road cover photo is going a bit far.

I agree. I know kids my age (12-14, but in reality, the ages are endless) who drink, smoke yada yada (I don't…) and taking out one cigarette won't make much of a difference.

It's the "hip" thing not to smoke now. It's less money if the cigarette is there. It's the refusal of the company to respect artistic integrity or sanity. It's political correctness taken to far. Yeah, me too. I think it looked better without. I don't really think the album cover would be Abbey Road without him and his cigarette and the barefootedness.
