Paul McCartney live at Lanxess Arena, Köln, Germany

8.00pm, Thursday 1 December 2011 (2 years ago)

Sir Paul McCartney performed a concert at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne in Germany, as part of his On The Run tour.

It was McCartney’s first show at the venue since 16 and 17 December 2009, almost two years previously.

The setlist was identical to his show the night before in Paris, France, except for the omission of San Francisco Bay Blues and Michelle. Here’s a performance of Let It Be from the show:

McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).

Further On The Run tour dates:

  • 5 December: O2 Arena, London, England
  • 10 December: Ericsson Globe Arena, Stockholm, Sweden
  • 12 December: Hartwall Areena, Helsinki, Finland
  • 14 December: Olimpiisky Arena, Moscow, Russia
  • 19 December: MEN Arena, Manchester, England
  • 20 December: Echo Arena, Liverpool, England

Awesome backing vocals by the boys.
Still one of Macca’s smartest moves to sorround himself with a young band.

Don’t forget Wix and Abe. The sounds Wix produces is incredible and Abe on the drums is fabulous (and he can dance too).
