Paul McCartney live: Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati

Paul McCartney performed at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, on 4 August 2011.

It was the eighth show of the On The Run Tour, which lasted for 37 dates between July 2011 and November 2012. This concert was seen by XXXXXX fans.

The concert was a complete sell-out, with 41,500 people in the audience. McCartney came on stage wearing a red jacket, which he joked was in tribute to the Cincinnati Reds baseball team: “Good evening, Cincinnati. Dig the jacket – home of the Reds!”

A local married couple, Matt and Maggie Muldoon Silverstein, held up signs during the concert from their fifth row seats. His said: “Paul, sign my wife”, while hers said: “I’m the wife – sign me”.

McCartney read out their signs early in the concert, and during the encore brought the couple onto the stage. He signed Maggie’s shoulder and added the words “Let it be!”

After the concert, the Silversteins drove to a local tattoo parlour, and Maggie had the words permanently inked onto her shoulder. She had a previous tattoo, “Limitless undying love”, on her left side.

McCartney’s band was Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (vocals, keyboards, guitar, percussion, harmonica), Brian Ray (vocals, guitar, bass), Rusty Anderson (vocals, guitar), and Abe Laboriel Jr (vocals, drums).
