The Beatles’ Love and John Lennon’s final interview go onsale at iTunes

The Beatles’ 2006 album Love and John Lennon’s final interview have gone onsale at Apple Inc’s iTunes Store.

Download on iTunesLove was the mashup soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil show of the same name, and was first released in November 2006. It was produced by Sir George Martin and his son Giles, and won two Grammy awards in 2008.

The album digital download is priced at $12.99/£10.99, and is also be made available as individual tracks. Two exclusive bonus tracks, of ‘The Fool On The Hill’ and ‘Girl’ have also been made available.

The accompanying documentary on the making of the soundtrack and stage show, All Together Now, will go on sale on 15 February. All Together Now won a Grammy for Best Longform Video in 2010.

Furthermore, a new official Beatles iPhone app (7.4 mb), based on the Love musical, has been released. The free app aims to promote the Cirque du Soleil show with a mixture of audio and video clips, photographs and news items, and promised exclusive ticket offers.

Download on iTunes”John Lennon: The Final Interview” Radio Special also goes on sale on iTunes with the approval of Yoko Ono. This was Lennon’s last interview, and was recorded on 8 December 1980 at the Dakota Building, New York City, just hours before his death.

The iTunes package will feature highlights from the interview, along with memories of Dave Sholin, Laurie Kay, Ron Hummel and Bert Keane 30 years on.

The Beatles’ LOVE album and All Together Now, the feature-length documentary about the making of The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil®, will make their worldwide digital debuts this month exclusively on the iTunes Store®. Both titles are available for pre-order on iTunes starting today in most countries. LOVE will be released on iTunes worldwide February 8 and All Together Now will follow soon after.

The LOVE album (US $12.99) includes exclusive, previously-unreleased LOVE versions of The Fool on the Hill and Girl, and comes as an iTunes LP featuring an art gallery that blends images of the Beatles with colourful photos from the acclaimed stage production. LOVE will also be available to purchase and download as individual songs.

The All Together Now documentary (US $12.99 HD) will be offered with iTunes Extras including the 84-minute film, three bonus featurettes and a trailer for the LOVE stage production, and is also available to rent.

This joint artistic venture, born from the personal friendship between George Harrison and Guy Laliberté, marks the first time that Apple Corps Ltd. has agreed to a major theatrical partnership. The exclusive box set features all of the remastered audio and visual elements included in The Beatles’ stereo box set, released on CD in 2009 and GRAMMY®-nominated this year in the Historical Album category.
