Starr’s was one of 28 names announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to receive stars on the Walk of Fame in 2010. Other recipients include Russell Crowe, Randy Newman, Adam Sandler, Van Morrison, Andrea Bocelli and the late Roy Orbison. The 28 were chosen from more than 200 nominations.

Update: Ringo Starr’s star is to be unveiled in a ceremony on 8 February 2010.

In April 2009 Sir Paul McCartney unveiled a posthumous star on the walk for George Harrison outside the Capitol Records building.

Although this was updated, why does it still show Paul’s birthdate??????? It’s definitely not June 18th, try February 9th, the 46th Anniversary of their first appearance on Ed Sullivan!

Not sure what you mean. The date this post was published was 18 June 2009 (I updated it today with the date of the ceremony, 8 February, though perhaps I should have left it alone). 18 June, the publication date, is Paul’s birthday, which is why he also appears in the ‘on this day’ list.

There’s another article, published on 9 February 2010, which lists the Ed Sullivan anniversary.
