The second of The Beatles' two performances at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York City was seen by 16,000 fans.
Although they performed their standard live set, and outwardly they looked like the same group, a subtle yet significant shift had taken place. This was The Beatles' first concert since Bob Dylan had turned them on to cannabis, a drug which had a significant effect on their music and lives in subsequent years.
As with the previous night's show, all 15,983 seats were sold out, although extra ones were made available at the high price of $6.50.
The Beatles performed 12 songs: Twist And Shout, You Can't Do That, All My Loving, She Loves You, Things We Said Today, Roll Over Beethoven, Can't Buy Me Love, If I Fell, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Boys, A Hard Day's Night and Long Tall Sally.
The support acts were, in order of appearance, The Bill Black Combo, The Exciters, The Righteous Brothers and Jackie DeShannon.
I was there! My mother knew Ron Delesner who got us tickets. I was 6 years old and I remember only 2 things....their helicopter and everyone screaming!!!

I was there...in the second to last row...with 5 of my friends...screamed the entire night...it was the greatest! Just saw Paul again at Citifield & Fenway Park...he still has it. He's amazing.
I could hear the concert from the bedroom window. I lived on Groton Street with my three year old son Jim, who was probably one of their biggest fans.
I'll never forget the crowds of people camped outside the stadium hoping to get a close look at the Beatles when they arrived. What a shame they were brought in by helicopter!
I was there with my girlfriend Elaine. My Dad brought us in along with my brother. They went to the movies while we were at the concert! An amazing night in my life! Don't remember a lot of it, but the screaming!
My sister attended and snuck in an 8mm movie camera - so we have actual footage of the concert - no sound - but very cool none the less.
Does anyone else other than me remember that John Lennon got punched by a guy who jumped on stage? I was 12 at the time and I remember that the screaming was so loud and continueous that I never heard a single note throughout the entire concert.
