Following their appearance on the BBC television show Juke Box Jury, The Beatles recorded a special concert appearance for the corporation at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre.

A busy day for The Beatles. In the afternoon they filmed a special edition of the BBC television show Juke Box Jury, before performing for 2,500 hometown fans. In the evening they played another two shows at the nearby Odeon Cinema.

The Beatles’ concert at Portsmouth’s Guildhall scheduled for 12 November 1963 had been postponed after Paul McCartney fell ill with gastric flu.

After their first appearance on The Morecambe And Wise Show, The Beatles performed a concert in the ballroom of the exclusive Grosvenor House hotel in aid of cerebral palsy sufferers.

The Beatles’ celebrated appearance on The Morecambe And Wise Show was filmed at ATV’s Elstree Studio Centre in Borehamwood on this day, although it wasn’t broadcast to the nation until April 1964.

This was The Beatles’ only time in the Yorkshire town of Huddersfield. It was the 24th date of their 1963 Autumn Tour, and took place on the day their single I Want To Hold Your Hand/This Boy was released in the UK.

The Beatles performed in Lincoln on just one occasion, as part of their 1963 Autumn Tour of the UK and Ireland. It was the 23rd date of the tour, which continued until 13 December.

Live: Rialto Theatre, York

This was The Beatles’ final trip to the Rialto Theatre in York. They had performed there on three prior occasions, all in 1963: 27 February, 13 March, and 29 May.

Television: Late Scene Extra, Scene At 6.30

The Beatles had a break from their Autumn Tour, and spent the afternoon at the Granada television studios in Manchester filming a performance and interview for the Late Scene Extra and Scene At 6.30 programmes.

This was The Beatles’ third performance in Hull, Yorkshire, but their first at the ABC Cinema.

This was the 19th date of The Beatles’ 1963 Autumn Tour, and the third time they performed at Newcastle’s City Hall.

On the day their second album With The Beatles was released, the group performed the 18th date of their 1963 Autumn Tour at the Globe Cinema in Stockton-on-Tees. It was also the day that John F Kennedy was shot in Dallas, Texas.
