The Beatles made their most important television appearance to date, with a place on the bill for the popular show Thank Your Lucky Stars.

The Beatles’ second show of 11 January 1963, following their lunchtime show at Liverpool’s Cavern Club, took place at the Plaza Ballroom, Old Hill, near Dudley in Staffordshire.

Live: Grafton Rooms, Liverpool

The Beatles performed in Liverpool on this evening for the first time in 1963, with a show at the Grafton Rooms, West Derby Road.

Television: Roundup

Although The Beatles had concluded their five-date tour of Scotland, they remained in the country to record an appearance on the children’s television show Roundup.

Travel: London to Aberdeen

The Beatles had been due to fly from London to Edinburgh on the morning of 2 January 1963. Due to bad weather, however, their flight was changed at the last minute and they landed in Aberdeen instead.

Travel: Hamburg to London

In preparation for their impending Scottish tour, The Beatles flew back from Hamburg to London on 1 January 1963.
