Following their appearance on the BBC television show Juke Box Jury, The Beatles recorded a special concert appearance for the corporation at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre.
A busy day for The Beatles. In the afternoon they filmed a special edition of the BBC television show Juke Box Jury, before performing for 2,500 hometown fans. In the evening they played another two shows at the nearby Odeon Cinema.
The Beatles’ concert at Portsmouth’s Guildhall scheduled for 12 November 1963 had been postponed after Paul McCartney fell ill with gastric flu.
After their first appearance on The Morecambe And Wise Show, The Beatles performed a concert in the ballroom of the exclusive Grosvenor House hotel in aid of cerebral palsy sufferers.
The Beatles’ celebrated appearance on The Morecambe And Wise Show was filmed at ATV’s Elstree Studio Centre in Borehamwood on this day, although it wasn’t broadcast to the nation until April 1964.
Day 26 of The Beatles’ 1963 Autumn Tour took them back to Leicester’s De Montfort Hall, a venue they had previously performed in on 31 March 1963.
